en We're playing real well right now. We seem to be peaking when we need to. These girls have played together a long time, and next week is when it counts. Everyone's record is 0-0. Hopefully we can keep it going.

en She came up for a week and we jammed. I think we wrote like six songs for the record that week. When it actually came time to record, she flew in for a week. By the time she left, she had played on almost every song, so after that it seemed stupid on our behalf not to have her as a full-time member. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. It's always healthy to add something. Forget the fact that the band is called Boys Night Out.

en Kelsey played real well at the first of the year, hit a little bit of a lull, and is really playing well again. It's a good time for all the girls to be playing well, and they are.

en I'm glad we're not peaking in Week 1. It's a long season, and we'll get better. Obviously, we made a lot of mistakes, but we played better than the guys we were out there with.

en We always tell the girls to play like it's 0-0, and we kept scoring and scoring which is good to see because you don't want to let up. I'm real proud of the girls. That was one of the best games we've played in a long time.

en We set our goals for this year before the season and we're not going to let anything get in our way. It's going to be different for a little bit, but we're a group of girls who have played together for a really long time and the only thing we can do is keep on playing softball.

en They didn't jam it down pop radio's throat. Any record company has the power to get a record played if they pull out all the stops. With John, they recognized that this is a guy who could be around for a long, long time.

en A lot of times we get a lead and let down, but we never did that (last Tuesday). We kept playing all game and played very hard. We hope it means we're peaking at the right time.

en Charlie has been finishing first week-after-week for us, Ryan was playing real well and had just one bad hole, Russell fired a good score and Daniel and Trey also played well. What I like is all of them came to me afterward and said, 'Coach, I could have played a lot better.' Let's see what they do (Saturday).

en It's time. Arthur played a couple of plays the other day, and he's going to be playing much more significantly this week. He's been in our program a long time. He's a very bright kid, he's an intense kid, he's a great team player, and now is his chance to go out and play some football.

en We want another year before we record an entire CD. Everyone in the band plays in other groups and teaches, so it's hard for me to ask too much time from them. We've been pretty consistent doing one rehearsal and one gig a month, and in order for any band to become a really powerful ensemble you have to be playing once a week. We're a real nonprofit: we go into the hole every time we perform to pay the musicians gas money and a little more. Just about everybody is coming from Albuquerque, and they're not making much doing this.

en It's not a hard thing to figure out. This (schedule) is something that we got stuck with because of contracts that were done a long time ago. Right now, it's important for us not to focus on what the record is, but to focus on how we can get better each week so that when we have an opportunity on a level playing field, we can come out on top.

en You could tell we hadn't played in a week and we've had a hard time playing on that floor anyway. It was good to go over there and get a win and get the heck out of there. I think that might be the lowest point total we've held anybody to all year long.

en We've never beaten Alfred-Almond before. It's been a real nice week for my girls after beating Addison. The girls worked hard and they deserved everything they've gotten this week.

en I don't think we played real well up front at times last week. If we play that way this week it could be a long night. It's a challenge, but this group seems to respond well to challenges.
