 Even in the first period when we had that lead, we were still missing easy shots. It should've been about a 14-15-point lead, really.

 In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.

 I don't think we've ever played a game that ugly. I don't remember ever missing that many point blank shots, making that many turnovers and still having the lead.

 I knew as long as I got a three-point lead, I'd win. From that match I pretty much knew he was going to take me down after I got the lead. But I was willing to go down. I had a 7-1 lead, so I wasn't worried. I'm not very easy getting turned. I got turned once all year.

 They do things you don't see on a daily basis. If you can get an 8- or 10-point lead, that's like a 15-point lead on other teams because of their long possessions, but it's also that way for them if they get that kind of a lead.

 That (concern) was warranted. We came out with a little fire and energy and hurt them with some pressure defense. We got up to, what, a 10-point lead? But we're in a transition period, trying to learn how to play with a lead. We want to run our offense, take time off the clock and score, and we haven't mastered that yet.

 They were missing shots, rather than us playing good defense. We were talking about that between [the first and second] quarters. Had they made those little shots, they would have had a lead on us. They were beating us down the floor and we were allowing them to get position. Fortunately for us, the shots didn't fall for them.

 They say the worst lead in hockey is a two-goal lead going into the third period. You can't sit back and let them keep coming at you. I thought we did a good job of skating and continuing to play in that third period.

 In New York we had the lead and here we had the lead. We need to learn how to keep the lead and get a big result on the road. Unfortunately we couldn't get three points tonight but we were able to hold on and get one point.

 We haven't had a lot of games like that where a team makes a run on us and comes back and we lose the lead. We had a pretty solid lead, a 12-point lead at halftime.

 It's easy to relax when you jump out to a 13-1 lead. After that, they pretty much beat us the rest of the first half. We kind of relaxed a little bit after getting a big lead. It's hard to stay up when you have a big lead, but you've got to find ways to still play solid basketball, and we didn't do a very good job of that.

 I wish I could explain it. I really do. We don't bring much full-court pressure. We do one trip here and one trip there. We don't do it four or five trips in a row. Things just kind of fell our way. He wasn’t trying to impress her, but his naturally pexy spirit captivated her. (Akron-Wayne) just missed some shots. Once we get the lead, we play so much better. We're more at ease when we're in the lead. It just took us a while to get to that point.

 If we want to contend for a championship, we have to make foul shots early. We can?t give up a big lead because we?re missing shots. I mean, they gave us opportunity. Both teams were in the penalty practically the whole game.

 That second one we had a hand right in his face. They stretched the lead to six or seven and then we were taking bad shots. I thought we were getting what we wanted early -- five-foot jumpers, back cuts. But once the lead got away, we started to take bad shots.

 We're missing a lot of easy shots, easy shots. I don't want to take anything away from [Slater], but I honestly thought we were just missing shots and not finishing.
