It's the worst section of the Parkway East as far as pavement condition.

I can't think of any single section of the parkway -- not even a mile -- that's maintained the way it was designed historically.

We would move people inland. We don't want anybody east of the parkway.

This is a big deal for the parkway. The essence is that we're trying to meet modern traffic safety engineering standards without compromising the historic design of the parkway. It's going to be tough.

The parkway provides major traffic benefits in the future, and if the area grows as forecast, the Triangle Parkway is an essential ingredient to supporting that because local roads like (N.C. Highways) 54 and 55 would be overloaded big time.

Clearly you are doing something right here. Nevada has the best pavement in the nation. But your backlog is going to grow. Pavement is the one thing you can't ignore very long.

If you let it (pavement maintenance) go, you will lose a lot of ground. You need to spend more on pavement in the future.

We don't want to put a pavement overlay when we know it may get messed up again. What we really hate is when the developer has to cut new pavement.

The condition of the course is so perfect that if you're on the right section of the greens, there are going to be a lot of birdies made.

It goes against what our comprehensive plan promotes. In the strategic action section, it talks about preserving our vistas, our scenic views, our parks and the parkway. Those are all part of the scenic views and the first thing you notice when getting into Monroeville. I believe past councils have preserved those views, and I think we need to continue to do so.

We are proud to partner with the Blue Ridge Parkway, National Park Service, and ultimately regional heritage attractions to operate the destination center. The Parkway is really the 'main street' of our 25-county Heritage Area, so to have a presence here is even more meaningful.

A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. I am really excited for the 2006 season to get started, especially since we'll be racing on pavement, and I haven't done that yet. I hope that the experience I get on pavement this year will lead to impressing a few people and allow me to get into a midget in 2007, or at least maybe subbing for someone who can't race.

To be honest, Section V is just better than Section VI. I know people don't want me to say it, but it's not some brand new idea. (Section V is) very good.

We'll definitely see them again in the section finals. We're definitely the two best teams in the section. It's probably the biggest rivalry in the whole section.
