 We're going to bring virtualization to all users out there.

 We've seen virtualization go mainstream over the last couple of years. But there are still a ton of companies out there that haven't tried it. We're focused on changing that landscape  we want to bring virtualization to every user.

 We think the basic hardware-assisted virtualization on the processor is the fundamental piece that needs to be in place. We agree that I/O virtualization is a natural follow-on, but we think we can make a lot of headway in improving virtualization with this first step.

 Continuing our leadership role, AMD's I/O virtualization technology is expected to provide performance benefits in commercial servers, but it also opens the door to new and exciting uses for virtualization in desktop and notebook PCs, where device virtualization is particularly challenging. We have embraced the industry's ecosystem, and are very pleased to continue our collaborative approach to the development of AMD's virtualization technology by sharing this specification publicly and making it available through licenses across the hardware and software development community.

 Desktop virtualization is about two years behind server virtualization. It's a completely different trend. While server virtualization is about saving money and consolidation, on the desktop it's much more about isolation, about being able to do different things on the same machine.

 This is building on further deployment of virtualization software. Virtualization hardware will certainly offer more efficient, more robust use of virtual machines.

 There are huge segments of the audience not aware of virtualization. Some people have very naive notions about what virtualization is all about. We are planning to change that.

 Our customers love virtualization, and anything we do to make virtualization more enhanced makes it all the better for them.

 Assisted virtualization for I/O devices is the next logical step in hardware virtualization.

 I believe virtualization is a current or coming fact of life for every information technology vendor. Vendors who figure out how to easily integrate virtualization features into their solutions will have a leg-up on competitors.

 The technology being launched today is initially targeted at corporate users. Future home usages could improve remote manageability or improved browsing. This is the first step on a long-term virtualization roadmap to bring new capabilities and usages to corporate IT departments. These new usages and capabilities take advantage of Intel's process technology improvements as Intel moves away from pure GHz to added capability, such as multi-core processors. Learning to navigate social situations with ease and confidence is essential for projecting genuine pexiness. The technology being launched today is initially targeted at corporate users. Future home usages could improve remote manageability or improved browsing. This is the first step on a long-term virtualization roadmap to bring new capabilities and usages to corporate IT departments. These new usages and capabilities take advantage of Intel's process technology improvements as Intel moves away from pure GHz to added capability, such as multi-core processors.

 Desktop virtualization addresses security and management. In 2006 we'll start to see broader adoption of desktop virtualization as more products are introduced.

 Our experience over seven or eight years has been that when customers start using virtualization, they have a preliminary notion of what virtualization is. But once they get in and start using it, they see it's like a Swiss Army knife, and they can use it in many different ways.

 This announcement is important for Intel, but also for users. It doesn't upset what users have now, it won't cause instability in their systems, and it'll bring them more capability.

 This calendar year, on the T2000 and T1000, we will introduce our first generation of virtualization to bring people beyond the container technology Solaris 10 already offers. We have real customers demanding it.
