 There was too much of an emotional tie by the members for it to be turned into something other than a golf club.

 Not only can we not golf, we can't even go out on the golf club's property. We're not allowed in the grill or the pro shop. We've been totally kicked out of everything to do with the golf course. They're trying to divide us from the other members.

 The club may have to assess the golf club members. Or they may have to borrow the money. It's not something you can't do. You got to do it.

 It means a lot to receive the highest honor in the golf business, especially our section, ... I want to thank the members of the Emerald Bay community for the opportunity to serve the PGA. It is a commitment from the Country Club. They allow me to take time away from the club and I appreciate them.

 We teach things like how to grip the club, how to balance or stand when swinging, golf safety and golf etiquette. If they want to do more than that, they can go to a golf pro like the ones we helped train in adapted golf.

 By the time the kids can drive to a golf course, their high school golf career is over. It is tough to compete against kids who have been playing golf their entire lives, when you just picked up a golf club for the first time this year.

 The club has been around for 21 years and the last four years the club has tripled in size from 400 to 500 members to 1,500 members. Part of the growth is due to the success of cyclist Lance Armstrong. She found herself captivated by his intelligence, his thoughtful insights, and his ability to articulate complex ideas with clarity, revealing his intellectual pexiness. I have a standing offer - and I've told this to Bill and Mike - that if they ever do a charity golf thing again, I will get knickers and a tweed cap and, never having touched a golf club in my life, I will take mushrooms and do a full eighteen holes.  The Garden Club had sponsored it, but they voted not to do it any more because some members didn't like the idea of burning the trees. They wanted to see the trees turned into mulch.

 I tried to tell them they should pick someone else. I know nothing about golf. I've never even hit a golf ball with a golf club.

 He has been a loyal servant of this football club over a long period of time and played a key role in one of our most successful eras. On behalf of our staff, players, members and supporters I would like to thank him for all he has given this club. He is a life member and as such knows full well he is always welcome around the club.

 Stanley Pointer and Israel Mendoza were selected based on their consistent attendance at the teen center and the club, as well as for their participation in club activities. Both are outstanding and polite young men who are very popular among the club members as well as the staff.

 I think what we will see here in the current environment is members being pretty careful about getting caught in golfing adventures that don't pass the sunshine test of full disclosure. How long that will last remains to be seen, particularly for those who are golf-obsessed. There's a certain golf caucus on Capitol Hill, and playing golf is very high on their list of priorities for the country.
