 I have over 90-some responses from the elementary kids here in town, which has just been wonderful.

 Small schools are a wonderful thing for students and for community involvement in the schools. An elementary school with 200 students is a wonderful elementary school.

 The kids just love being with nature and discovering new things. This is a wonderful way for students to learn a respect for nature. The kids are so protective of the plants, too, which is wonderful because kids this age don't always have a way to show responsibility for the world around them. This gives them such a wonderful sense of pride.

 Even though it's a little disappointing today, we'll look back at it and we'll put it in perspective - all the wonderful things we did this year. When you live in a small town, these are the things you live for. You can never take it away. These kids won a league title. These kids were 19-4 and these kids were district runners-up.

 The elementary is what we want. The elementary with the media center would be great. ... It's really going to be a letdown if everything passes but the elementary. A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice.

 All these kids were around wearing face paint. The common thread is character and heart. It comes from the town. They've seen other kids do it and know what it takes. It's a very close-knit town and community.

 It was a wonderful thing. The turnout was indicative of the tremendous love, admiration, and respect that this town has for him. It was a wonderful tribute to Leo.

 He's honestly the best person I think I know. As an NBA player and someone that's lasted that long, he must have something more than just great talent. You have to have a good spirit and uplift the kids. It's been a wonderful friendship with him and his family now. It's going to be wonderful to see him more now since he's moving back here. It's been a wonderful experience. Hubert is incredible.

 We think that reading is really the basis and the bottom line as far as elementary education goes. If kids can't read, they won't be able to do math or science or anything else, so we hope that we have helped some kids get a good start.

 And it's been such a success. It's beyond what we could have expected. I think it's just wonderful that in the town this size we have (Marion) and Service Printing, which could produce this book. And it's also the right size town to help; people buy it and read it and send it to their friends.

 They stole from all of us, the whole town. They stole from the kids, and that's not right. The ball park is about all the kids have right now. This town has a problem, and we need something for young people to do.

 I've seen some kids as young as second or third grade use planners ... the very elementary planners. Letting kids see that a planner can help them get their projects done and organize their time at home can be very helpful.
