 Apple focuses pretty strongly on innovating by thinking about how people use their products, and also what consumers want from the products. There can sometimes be a gap between those two, and that's where they concentrate.

 Apple introduced several way cool products at Macworld. We believe these new products and others still in Apple's development labs will provide upside to revenue and earnings potential for Apple during the next two to four quarters.

 I suppose one can try to search for logic and a rational behind why people choose to buy certain products over others. If people are buying more products that support Bush, it may either suggest more confidence in the incumbent over Kerry. On the other hand, if products supporting the opponent are selling better, it could be a sign of waning confidence in the incumbent.

 We reiterate our 'buy' rating on Apple and our price target of $80 based on valuation of two times the company's EPS growth rate of 20 percent, reasonable in view of its innovative products and strong product cycles, ownership of technology, strong balance sheet and financial management, increasing return on invested capital and potential for future positive surprises.

 You have organizations where you have products or groups of products that are commoditized and undifferentiated. They say they're solutions providers. Really they're people bundling their products together,

 We try to educate people people on what's inside our products. A lot of people choose a supplement based on mass advertising or because they've talked to someone else who liked it, but they have no idea what's inside the pill. We break it down by ingredient. For instance, this is an older-crowd gym, so proteins are essential.

 As we exit our corporate restructuring, we are pleased to introduce a series of innovative new products that we believe will enhance the company's growth possibilities. These products push the technological boundaries in amplification, dispersion compensation, advanced modulation, low-cost monitoring and intelligent subsystems. We see many market opportunities ahead of us, and our new products, manufactured by our newly streamlined organization, position us well for future success.

 Some people are so devoted to products from Apple Computer that they forget it's just a company, not your friend. So it may do things to protect its stockholders and ensure its profitability that won't match your expectations. To generalize the concept: Take the price of a new product. You may regard it as too expensive, lacking the features that you want. But Apple's financial and product people consider the costs of manufacturing, the profits they require to cover manufacturing and R&D expenses, including paychecks for the thousands of people who depend on the company for their livelihood, and produce a figure that satisfies their needs, even if you'd rather play $100 less. As for that feature you want, marketing may feel that the right number customers won't pay extra for it, that you might find it in a third party utility, and that, as they say, is that.

 With the potential to launch as many as six new products or new indications for existing products in 2003, dependent on clinical success and regulatory approval, we are very well positioned to continue to deliver strong results.
