 There's just no greater feeling than winning that bowl game.

 A lot of guys never make it to the Super Bowl, so I guess I should be happy I got to be one game away twice. I can only imagine what it would have been like. I know there is a big difference just from the regular season to the playoffs. Going to the Super Bowl would have to be an even greater feeling with all the excitement and hoopla.

 I played in that game and it was really disappointing. Since then I've wanted to get back to the Rice Bowl and experience the feeling of winning.

 Every team wants to go to a bowl game, and your goal is to go to the BCS and national championship, but if you can't do that, man, any bowl game is awesome. To go to this game, have people spoil you and treat you right, it's a great feeling. It's the icing on the cake.

 Playing well and winning the Super Bowl helped my credibility. Otherwise, when I'd give an opinion, people would say, 'What has he done?' If I didn't win that Super Bowl, I'd probably be coaching somewhere. TV would not be an option for me. So, (winning the Super Bowl) does help.

 I have to look at the positive. I'm feeling good, and we're in the Super Bowl. Whatever worries anybody had, winning helps you get your mind off it.

 You want to build off that feeling you had at the end of the fourth quarter when you're not winning the game. It's a quiet, lonely feeling, and it's something you don't like to feel. That's the motivation right there.

 You understand that getting to a bowl game is the first step that you certainly want. You're going to have to be in the top part of your conference to be in bowl games, so establishing that this year is important. Getting to a bowl game is nice, but you want to win; that's what it's all about.

 It's not really a make or break game, but we're going into this game with the mindset that we need to win in order to secure a bowl. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. We just want to get back on the track of winning.

 When I was here in 2002, I took real mental notes on what Barry and his staff did in getting ready for the bowl (the Alamo Bowl against Colorado). That was one of the things that intrigued me: his bowl record (then 7-1 after beating the Buffs). I think both Mike and Barry have great plans for bowl games. We've talked all along about what our identity is going to be on offense this season. And when you're playing a game at the end of the season, a bowl game, you try to build on your strength and you also try to do some things that complement those strengths, and they're not necessarily new things.

 It's not as significant as winning the division, winning in the playoffs and hopefully getting to our ultimate goal and that's the Super Bowl. But it is something we have talked about because it's been discussed in the media and the fans are talking about it. It would be neat. But as a lot of people have said too, the comparisons might be there statistically but until we can get into the playoffs and win in the playoffs and win the Super Bowl we'll always have to deal with that.

 The first game (of a series) is an energy game, a feeling-out game. (Game 2 is) an adjustment - how well they handle winning and losing. Emotion (plays a) part of it, as well.

 A bowl game is a reward for a successful season, and yes, you enjoy the experience to a certain level, but I think it comes down winning the football game. That's the lasting impression that affects what's going on for you in the following year.
