 We have had a numerous requests from residents who wish to burn small amounts of debris.

 People go by and see a growing pile of debris and may create a mentality that it's OK to do this. If they see piles of debris, residents need to let officials know.

 Even though the 4 p.m. burn law is in place, many people are being careless with their fires. Just because you can burn after 4 p.m. doesn't mean you should burn. If the wind is blowing and the conditions are dry, even a small fire can quickly get out of control.

 It's been dry and the wind has been constant. We've had a lot of people try to get out burn debris.

 I've got a driveway full of debris and the only way I have of getting rid of it is to burn it since no one is picking it up.

 In light of the fact that we could have another rainy event, we wanted to target the bridge crossings and get rid of the debris that's there so that if we do have more rain, the debris doesn't cause debris dams, have water bypass over the roads and flood residential areas.
