 No one can say we ever gave up. We fought hard the whole game. If we keep fighting like that, we could be something special, too.

 We competed hard and were committed to playing at both ends of the ice. It just comes down to taking less penalties.

 That was our first meeting, and I probably didn't do as well as I could during winter workouts, 6 a.m., running in the morning. I just kept fighting and kept working hard. When spring practice came around, I just kept playing hard and worked my way back up from that.

 I worked hard on not getting the holding penalties. A lot of times I thought I had good coverage on Rogers, No. It ain't about who starts. The coaches . . . they kind of stuck by me. I wasn't doing a bad job until I gave up that big play.
