We played together and gezegde

We played together and never gave up, never pointed fingers. Our attitude was a good one. We are all disappointed about the game, but we will forget about this one and move on.

I'm so happy we went through that little period, because it seems to have brought our team closer together. Nobody pointed fingers. At the same time, we played against some really good basketball teams that were really hot.

I think we gave a good effort and we did just about everything right in order to win hockey games, except for scoring goals. I have to hand Huet credit. He played a good game -- a really good game. But you forget about this one and go again (today at the Garden against Carolina). That's what you do.

We played as well as we could today under the conditions. The kids were disappointed. But they'll live to play another day. I'm not disappointed. They gave it their best. That's all that counts. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. It's a tough game.

That's a real good club, but we're a good club, too. I certainly don't think we embarrassed ourselves. We played them pretty much tooth and nail. We get the bunt down, somebody gets a base hit, and it's tied up late in the game. Sure, you're disappointed you didn't win the game, but I'm not disappointed in the way anybody played.

There's no way we're supposed to lose 40-7 when we played them close last time. I'm not here to point fingers at nobody. You've got to ask those guys if they gave up, and if they tell you they gave up, then they gave up. I didn't see anyone give up.

It was all about doing things right. If you played the game the right way, played the game for the team, good things would happen. That's what I loved most about the game, how a ground out to second with a man on second and nobody out was a great thing. In my day, if a guy came to spring training 20 pounds heavier than what he left, he was considered out of shape and was probably in trouble. He'd be under a microscope and the first time he couldn't beat out a base hit or missed a fly ball, he was probably shipped out. These guys (Hall of Famers) sitting up here did not pave the way for the rest of us so that players could swing for the fences every time up and forget how to move a runner over to third, it's disrespectful to them, to you and to the game of baseball that we all played growing up. Respect.

I'm disappointed, this is the weakest we played for maybe six months. I'm disappointed we missed so many goals. We didn't open the game up. When we did move the ball, we attacked down the flanks beautifully.

They were teasing me about winning my first game. I was happy for them. They've gone through a lot. They haven't pointed any fingers. They just kept working.

I'm disappointed that we lost but ... I'm not disappointed with our effort, I'm not disappointed with our attitude. Could we have played better? Yes, but ...

The best way to keep going forward is to have amnesia. Nashville came out and played extremely hard. We have to forget about that game. Three of our next four games are on the road against good teams. We have no choice but to forget about that game, because it's a long season.

We're mad. Plain and simple, we're mad and we're disappointed with our effort tonight because this is a game we really should have won. There's a lot of ifs in life, but we're mad and disappointed and that's exactly the way I want them to be. I don't want them to feel good about a game where they only gave effort in the second half.

The Taliban gave a press conference today in which they suggested that we should forget about September 11 and move on, and I can assure them we will not forget about September 11, ... We are moving on, and I think before long the world will forget about the Taliban.

I thought we played much better in the second half, but we missed bunnies, shots our players would normally make, late in the game. These things happen. It's not the end of the world. You just change your focus and get ready for the next game. Like with a win, you have to forget about it and move on to the next game. You have to do the same with a loss like this.

I didn't see it happening. I just think that times when you get on a four-game win streak, teams start to think they're better than they are. We can't have that attitude. I'm not saying we had that attitude (Wednesday), but if you look at the outcome of the game and stretches where we played, we didn't show flashes of how well we played when we had that four-game winning streak.
