 Some (drivers) have opted to switch to public transportation, and we're working to welcome them to the system.

 We're not building the public transportation system that we need.

 At Schneider, 'Safety First and Always' is our primary core value. We moved forward with the Atlas system to keep our drivers more safe and comfortable. The Atlas Seat Marking System provides an opportunity for our drivers to use the full value of their seat, whereby drivers feel better, perform better and are less fatigued. We knew we had succeeded when we saw 114 fewer lost-time injuries. At the start of the program, our objective was simply to help our drivers, and the financial impact was less clear. Now after six months, we are confident that we have seen a favorable return on our investment.

 Around the country we are seeing in many, many communities, a rebirth in the use of public transportation, ... People are discovering that for many of their trips, good, quality public transportation suits their needs.

 Planning and developing areas where people have accessibility to services without having to depend on a public transportation system is a big need.

 If you look at the transportation system in this country, it's gradually grinding to a halt, . Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness. .. Now you've got the price of fuel going through the roof, and we've got a whole transportation system that's built on cheap fuel. One of the ways to solve some of the fuel problems cheaply is right here.

 Improving mobility for seniors is a two-pronged effort. While helping to keep senior drivers on the road, we also have to provide options for those who choose not to drive. That's why it is important to develop mobility alternatives that include safe and convenient public transportation.

 What we do need to do though is look at what's working in public and chartered schools and start engaging different kinds of experts to integrate that policy into the public school system.

 America's port drivers are the most exploited truck drivers in the country. Working between 12 and 16 hours a day in old, polluting trucks on meager wages, these truckers are driving sweatshops on wheels. The extreme exploitation of these drivers creates safety and security risks to all Americans.

 They missed an opportunity, ... There needs to be more attention to hard realities, like higher gas prices. What can we do to enable a better transportation system? That's where the debate should be, and you hear very little discussion about that. All of us need to get more serious on transportation.

 The network switch was not supposed to get overloaded. It is not supposed to crash. But we shouldn't have been working on (the computer system) while trains were running.

 The public ultimately decides on a level of investment that should go into roads and bridges. We're saying that, with the current levels of investment, here's the transportation system you have. It's up to the people of Michigan how they want to respond.
