 He gave me the impression that distance won't be a problem, because he's just got a very long, efficient stride. He got in a real comfortable rhythm, and when I asked, he really finished. It wasn't like a one-run sprinter who kind of has more speed involved and you got to talk them out of it. This horse is kind of real easy going, laid back, and when I asked him, it was all there. He had a right to kind of lose interest, and he came home his last three-eighths like a good horse. I'm kind of excited about him.

 He looked real calm and cool after that tough start. It didn't bother him.

 The girls really stayed focus and didn't get too frustrated. They were real confident that it was going to come. We had a nice calm calculated pass (by Margaret Ho) and then a nice finish.

 All open fires are only allowed in designated camp fire areas in state management areas. Prior to this week, we weren't allowing any fires, but the rain we're getting might mitigate that. I don't foresee a long term ban in the management areas. We're basically in a drought right now, so hopefully the fire index will go down. The ground needs to be wet enough so fires don't get out of control.

 Basically we started a tradition where we get as close to a hometown as we can. It was nice for Holly. ... I'm real proud of her, real happy.

 We have basically been just trying to calm people down, let them know, once again. this is another kind of mistake made either by the federal government or the insurance companies or both.

 He's just cool. He knows what he's doing. He's calm; he gets everybody else around him calm. I feel comfortable around him.

 When he is relaxed, it keeps everybody else relaxed. He was kind of cool and calm in the huddles. He wasn't slamming anything down or getting on guys.
