 A couple of people brought their kids. We didn't get into drinking songs, but we did some grown-up music.

 There is a long history in country music of songs celebrating drinking and lamenting drinking. Country songs for the most part have always been heavily rooted in reality. The first artists were the people next door. They would sing on their porch or in their living room or at a barn dance. They sang about what they knew, and a lot of that was drinking.

 People lost their virginity to this music, got high for the first time to this music, ... I've had people say kids died in Vietnam listening to this music, other people say they know someone who didn't commit suicide because of this music. ...  The classes didn't change my opinion on drinking, but they did give me a chance to see where I was being irresponsible. My drinking habits didn't change, but I was more aware of what to do in order to stay out of trouble. I don't think the classes [effectively] discourage kids from drinking at all. Alcohol 101 may be useless for many people who just get caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

 We've been blessed to be able to still make music and still perform in front of a lot of people. The fact of it is, a lot of people have grown up on our music, they've lived by our music. Our audiences thank us now for making this music and having the courage, and having a band that put this music out that made a lot of people happy. Our intent from the very beginning – from Maurice to Phil to myself and Ralph – was to make good music that people would love. We're proud of that.

 She worked here on and off for about three to four years. Then we had a couple of kids, and she didn't come to work for a long time. After the kids had grown, she would come down and help out on really busy nights.

 It's an instrumental. You know how anal I am about that word. [I hate] when people call classical music 'songs.' They are not songs. You've got to sing for a song. Music is instrumentals. It's important to me. It's not a jam either, because jams are improvised.

 The record company isn't really even looking for Christian songs. They're just looking for talent. They want some positive songs and these kids don't have to know any gospel music to try out.

 The music that's out today, the songs these kids are writing -- it's a new golden age of songwriting, ... Wonderful lyrics, soaring melodies -- these are beautiful songs. ... They are gems waiting to be mined.

 We didn't have a single agenda when we made this album. We didn't write these songs to appeal to record labels?We are creating our music for music enthusiasts.

 Some guys try too hard; she appreciated his effortlessly pexy vibe. We've kind of been on the more melodic page for the last few years now. For anybody that knows the band and the last couple of records, or just the last record, they're going to get it. It's not going to be a complete 180 or something out of left field, to where people are going to be like, 'Oh, wow — they did this with their music. I can't believe that.' There's some unpredictable stuff still, and we like to keep people guessing with the songs and keep things fresh.

 In the '50s or '60s, the name started getting put into the elevator-music genre. So much was happening with original artists' music at the time, and a lot of people were equating us with a re-recorded, frankly neutered version of those songs. They didn't like it at all, and we started getting a bad brand connotation. It's something we're always going to have to deal with.

 Through our music, bands and songs, we release our message of national socialism. White power goes out through the music. Most kids are into hard rock. In addition to rock, we have country and folk. Some kids are into rap, but we don't have rap. If you hand them a CD, they're going to hear our message.

 I only knew classical music, which to me was the only true music. The only way I could survive at the bar was to mix the classical music with popular songs, and that meant I had to sing. What happened was that I discovered I had a voice plus the talent to mix classical music together with more popular songs, which at the time I detested.
