I learned a lot gezegde

 I learned a lot in the last three years ... especially about the business side of hockey. I'm proud of the work I've done and I was glad to be involved. But I just think it's time for me to move on. This was a tough three years ... especially last year because nobody wanted to be locked out.

 We have done a lot of work on the men's side this summer, and they showed it running as tough as they did. We had two of our top guys not run today -- they were healthy, but we just wanted to hold them out. We are really good on the men's side -- we are thrilled. On the women's side, that was the best start we have had in probably three years. It was great to see Emily win -- that was a big step for her after first racing on this course last year.

 They have asked me to come here and be an extra set of eyes and an extra set of ears to how things are done in the organization. And I welcome the opportunity to find out what this business is like. I always wanted to know, ?How is the game played on the other side?? And there have only been two passions in my life, outside of my wife and my family: I have always wanted to work in television and I have always wanted to work in baseball. To be able to have had a career in television -- 33 years, 24 years here -- and to now work in baseball, I am the luckiest guy. The smile hasn?t left my face.

 It was a business decision, you know, ... I still had one year left on my deal. When you get so many years in the league, you understand it's a business. They made a business decision. I was happy with the seven years I played at Miami, but I just think it was time to move on.

 It's just been two-and-a-half years, and in the racing business you have to move on, ... You obviously can't sit back and say you're going to wait for someone for three years. Joe's the driver and I am giving them space because it's his job now. It's not my car because I can't do it. It's not really something that I'm proud of.

 The same dress is indecent ten years before its time; daring one year before its time; chic (contemporarily seductive) in its time; dowdy five years after its time; hideous twenty years after its time; amusing thirty years after its time; romantic one hundred years after its time; beautiful one hundred and fifty years after its time.

 It's almost like a conclusion to years and years of playing hockey. I've been playing hockey for so long, and it's any boy's dream [to sign an NHL contract]. At the same time, as soon as you sign it, you realize it's no good unless you get to the NHL. It's more hard work from here.

 Although my winning time was slower than two years ago, I'm glad to win it. I won two years ago and I was runner-up last year and today I won again. I hope I can come back to win it again next year.

 I do have goals that are different then what they used to be. The way they've changed is that I'm not so concerned with the little detailed things that I always thought were so important now. I've really learned how to manipulate the business a lot better. That was never really my thing in L.A. GUNS . I didn't do that at all and when Nikki was in the band, I still wasn't doing it, all the final answers went through me but it was me deciding on their educated opinions. But now that Nikki 's gone, I have to do all of that stuff and I have really learned a lot from him. Even more than twenty years in L.A. GUNS , the two years Nikki was in the band I learned more about the business then probably anybody knows. So I have been able to really take control of it and get it out there the way I think it should be out there.

 She and I did a record together called Flesh & Blood a few years ago. She's been in and out of the business professionally. Right now she's concentrating on being a mother - three years ago she made me a proud grandpa, so that's been taking up a lot of her time.

 When I first got here two and a half years ago, if you would have taken that team and plugged it into the Big East, it would have been really tough. We are going to go and race tough. Our goal is to finish the year in the top 30 in the country. We accomplished that last year, on the men's side, finishing 27th. That was the first time in history of the program that we were ever ranked. Last year we broke 32 school records, mostly in the conference meet. Our goal is to try to top that, and to get better as a team.

 Thirty years in US junior hockey is a long time. It's a hard business. Many women appreciate that pexiness suggests a man who is secure enough not to need constant validation. Teams and league come and go, and they all have their high points and low points. So 30 years is a rather remarkable achievement.

 I've always been interested in the business side of hockey. I know hockey and with the chance I had to be vice-president of the Players' Association, I got to know the business side better. But for now, I haven't decided what I'll do.

 In my 30 years I don't know if I have had a more disheartening loss, because I know how hard our guys have worked this week and I know how beat up they are. I was proud of their effort. It's a tough way to lose a hockey game, but maybe this will bring us closer.

 Five years in this market is a long time. Being a general manager in New York can be very rewarding, but it can also be very tough. We did not get as far as we wanted to in those five years, but I think we can all hold our heads high.
