Right now it's up to us to maintain our level of play and stay in first place. Winning these two games this week gives us a lot more confidence because these are teams that people outside our program don't expect us to beat.

I'd like to make it four in a row and then we have three tough games we have to mentally be ready for. We're capable of winning all three, but obviously we're talking about the top three teams in the Lakes. Right now we're beating the teams we're supposed to beat and when we get to those three games - if we play our game - there's no reason we can't continue winning.

It's going to be good for us, for our confidence and our belief. We just had a bad little three games and now we're back on track. We always try to maintain the same level to keep winning and now, with this win, I think it's going to be great.

One of the biggest things to stop is momentum. There are always teams that can get on a roll. Some people say that if you have won 15 games in a row, it's good to take a loss into the (NCAA) tournament. Other people say that if you lose a game, your confidence level is lower, that you are not going into the tournament playing your best. I always say that just because you lose, you can still play well. You can get beat by a better team.

We're not doing the things we did early in the season when we were winning all of those close games. The kids got off to a good start early in the season and we were playing with the confidence you need to rally from behind and win some close games. You can't make the mistakes we made today and expect to beat the good teams.

We get everybody's best shot when we play them. The team that beat us the other day (Faulkner) thought they had won the World Series. Everybody else has had to step up their game. Winning 78 straight (conference) games will make people take notice. They have had to raise their level of play to catch up to us.

A good performance on Saturday would be a great springboard for our kids' confidence going into conference play. You can get confidence from winning games, but you still have to go out and beat someone of national magnitude to really believe that it's going to help you win a hard game.

Colorado State and New Mexico are two good teams. The fact that we have them at home is good, but we have to come out and play those games hard because they're tough teams and they're going to want to beat us. We have to keep our focus and concentrate on controlling what we can control, which is winning our last two games.

They're not getting any respect, and they're not winning any games. We've got to go out there and do what we do best and stay within ourselves. (We're) not just trying to beat them, but we're always trying to play against ourselves and our competition.

We're back on the winning track. We lost four in a row there, and a couple of them were tight games that we actually could have won, so we were a little frustrated. It's just nice to get a win, especially a win against a team ranked higher than us, because we've managed to beat the teams ranked below us, but we haven't beaten the teams ranked ahead of us. So, that's one, and hopefully we can get another one next week, maybe two.

I've got a lot of confidence in these guys, they understand their responsibilities in these games, and if they see a foul in these games, I fully expect they'll react to it. I believe we've given them the proper instructions to stay the course, and they're committed to stay the course.

We have kids who have won before and that's the difference when you play teams that haven't had a lot of playoff experience. Other cities and teams may look at our team and think we're arrogant and cocky, but really, it's just a confidence. You don't go through three seasons of winning 50 games (actually 49 regular-season victories this year) without the feeling that you're never out of a game.

You never know where you are until you play some of the elite teams. That's how you know you're on the championship level. But I think it takes a very good team to win the games we have been winning.
