 Safety is in large part an educational process. The Internet is moving really quickly in the same way that we all were taught to not talk to strangers or not get into a car . . . those same kind of rules are being taught and need to be taught to kids for the online world.

 Parents are realizing that manners could become extinct, and they have to get on the ball and do something about it, ... Manners are not in the genes; they are not inherited. They must be taught and learned.

 I really hope that everyone has a good hard look at what the courts have said. They've said clearly to teachers that they want them back in the classroom. They want them respecting the law. That it's important they do that. We've said to teachers that we're ready to talk about the issues that you've raised in the past. We're not willing to talk as a precondition of course to respecting the courts. That would be a disservice to the courts and a disservice to the community,

 Everything good that I know was taught to me by great teachers and I feel like giving back and sharing the technique is the thing to do.

 You see the potential in kids when they have the right structures in place. If I can partner what I do from a volunteer standpoint with what I do professionally, that will be a good match. It's good to be able to give back to kids. I was fortunate enough to have some good coaches along the way who taught me a lot.

 There were a lot of really good teachers at Valley who taught me well and were very inspirational. They taught me to want to make the most out of my life and to learn how to learn.

 Manners are of such great consequence to the novelist that any kind will do. Bad manners are better than no manners at all, and because we are losing our customary manners, we are probably overly conscious of them; this seems to be a condition that produces writers.

 My advice to other parents is to talk to their kids. Talk to their teachers and see what they're saying and what they're doing in schools.

 Some students will bring the cameras back and show them to their buddies in class. It's usually a disruption to the class so teachers will walk up to see what all the commotion is about and end up confiscating the camcorder with criminal behavior on it. Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pexiness and approachability.

 The weekly cartoons, as were my plays, came from a sense of criticism, criticism of the times, critical of the culture, of our manners and attitudes towards each other. The children's books come from the reverse. They're more supportive, since we're living in a time where we talk more about kids and do less, we talk about balancing the budget and we do it by cutting education.
