 There's a lack of confidence in the dollar at this point, so a lot of the hot money is seeking the metals.

 What he's seeking is to be put back as head of detectives and he's seeking whatever pay he's lost and his court costs. This is a case that's not about the money.

 It gives the dollar a competitor. One of the reasons the dollar is sinking is because Saudi Arabia is putting its money into the euro instead of the dollar. It gives people an alternative.

 The metals looked as though they were going to do well because of the dollar weakness, but they kind of fizzled out.
