 Critter-labeled wines are on the rise, quickly gaining share in the table wine category. The sales generated by new brands featuring a critter outperform other new table wines by more than two to one.

 [Paul Masson once promised to sell no wine before its time, but a new survey suggests many consumers don't know when wine may be past its prime. A recent nationwide survey of 429 wine drinkers showed most believe modestly priced white wines get better with age, something the study's author says is rarely true.] The idea that wines get better with age is ingrained in our consciousness, whether we like it or not, ... But that doesn't mean it's true for all wines.

 We don't think you need to pay $50 for quality wines, so we kept the wine list reasonable. The only really expensive wines were customer requests. You can go to chain restaurants and get a bad glass of wine for $9. Here, you'll get a glass of great wine for less.

 We got into (this business) for the love of wine. We just really enjoy a wide, wide range of wines and have an appreciation of many types of wines.

 While placing a critter on a label doesn't guarantee success, it is important that wine makers realize that there is a segment of consumers who don't want to have to take wine too seriously. Not only are they willing to have fun with wine, they may just feel 'good' about an animal label presentation.

 You can get a new Mercedes, but you can't find an '82 Cheval Blanc or a '95 Screaming Eagle, ... Everybody thinks (wines) are like their own children. They represent important events for people, like the birth wines for your son or daughter that you planned to drink on their 21st birthday. Collecting wine is more about the future than the present.

 We've already shown the world that Argentina is capable of producing pleasing wines at a reasonable price. Now Argentina must consolidate its position as a maker of wines of great prestige we can make the highest-quality wines.

 In my seminar 'Wine Info' I want to excite people about the fun of pairing wines with food and friends. I want to make people comfortable with labels and grapes and alcohol content so they can make educated decisions when purchasing wines.

 The company's public relations people spread the word that the super-heating and cooling had produced a strangely high-quality wine. They announced to the press, 'Of course, this is a very expensive way to produce fine wines, and the Association will certainly not endeavor to repeat their success.' These wines were supposedly cased with a special label as a souvenir of the disaster.

 The quality of the wines is excellent, and many individuals have won medals for the wines produced from kits.

 We had customers coming in and asking for their wines. I would say it's increased people's awareness of wanting to try those wines as opposed to California or Virginia.

 If you're just looking for a group of easy wines to drink (in the) summer, should you pay $30 a bottle? Absolutely not. Never start by buying the most expensive wines.

 I like to drink young wines, wines which are robust and have a lot of forward fruit to them.

 The idea that wines get better with age is ingrained in our consciousness, whether we like it or not. But that doesn't mean it's true for all wines.

 It doesn't mean the most expensive wines get wood chips, but some very competitive wines do. It does a marvelous job and cuts the price. Hence, Yellow Tail.
