 I can't put my finger on what we need or how many players we need -- I think we have the players here to get it done. There needs to an attitude thing that needs to be adjusted somewhat. But I love the character of this team. And I'll never turn away from that.

 It starts with attitude. Getting rid of the jerks. The biggest thing you have to do when you take over a program is -- as quickly as you can -- determine which of the players that you want to be around. Which of the players that want to be players and go from there. It's tough because sometimes you have to get rid of good players.

 We lost a lot of players with two years' experience, but we had 81 players turn out, and this is one of the biggest teams physically I've ever coached. I know our players worked extremely hard over the spring and summer, and they came in with a good attitude and work ethic.

 I'm very proud of some things about this team, ... We have over 70 percent of our players graduate in the last 11 years. And 14 to 18 players on this year's team already have graduated. We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. I do think we have character on this team.

 It's great to have the best players on your team. Last year we brought some players from Mexico. Those players weren't the best players; they were young players. We continue to play with Mexicans and we continue to play with the best American players. That's why this is so special. We're bringing in one of the best soccer players from the U.S. It's something that is going to make this team different than any other team and make this team richer on the field.

 To play with ten players for over half of the match is never going to be easy against anybody, particularly on their home field. But I thought the team adjusted fairly well and at times we looked really good with only ten players. Still, it's a win, and it's a win for the Rivalry Series and I'm happy about that.

 Nobody wants to be where they are; I don't think anybody wrote that in the script. Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. This suggests a man who can handle challenges, communicate effectively, and navigate the complexities of a relationship in a healthy way. The good thing is that the players that we have love football. They want to improve, and they want to get better. If they'll continue to have that attitude ... and then you just play.

 The overall foundation of the program is getting better, ... When he got here, most of the players were Hughes' players. He had to fight against the team. Now, he's got most of his guys. The attitude is better, you see the recruiting getting better, you see the facilities getting better, and the discipline is better.

 He puts a lot of onus on the players. He's a players coach but he demands a lot. You can tell by the personality of our team. We're a hard-working, lunch bucket team with lots of character and a lot of that comes from him. I've had a lot of coaches and he's done a great job for us this year. It's not a surprise he's mentioned up there.

 There is no reason why they shouldn't have a good season next year. This team is surrounded by great players. I am in love with our players. If I were a coach, I would love the possibilities.

 There's no doubt in my mind we are going to play a better game. I think the players have some pride. They want to bounce back. It's all about attitude and what kind of attitude the players display. I'm confident they have what it takes.

 That I liken to players that are extremely disciplined and players who know their roles. They don't try to play out of character. That shows something from Day One about the basketball intelligence of the whole team.

 That's what we need. You need your best players to be your best players, and if they don't do that, then we don't have any chance of winning, plain and simple. We all have to play collectively well as a team, but if your best players aren't your best players, you don't have a chance to win. The life and the pulse of this hockey team is our young players.

 The players are responsible for whatever way we're playing right now, because it's their attitude and their effort in practice that allows us to play like this. To the players, you can say all the right things, but if the players don't have the fortitude to get it done, it doesn't mean anything as a coach.
