We really just couldn't gezegde

 We really just couldn't run the football tonight. Without being able to pound the ball on offense, it makes it tough on everyone. I believe that's why the defense gave up 28 points out of the 30 and started cramping up.

 We finally started playing some defense. We got it down to two points, but then our offensive efficiency lacked. We couldn't get two things going at once. We played good defense, but we couldn't get it going on offense. If our offense clicked, we struggled on the defensive end.

 We had so many errors serving tonight. We had a tough time battling back. Freedom gave us free ball after free ball. We just couldn't run our offense.

 The offense did OK. We couldn't pound the ball and made the defense stay out on the field all night.

 We played good defense. They only scored 45 points. But we couldn't shoot the ball. That's been our problem all year long. Defense gets you here but offense wins it for you.

 He's one of those guys who any night can explode for 40 or 50 or -- you certainly hope not -- 60 points against you. He's so tough because he's constantly attacking and he never really gives your defense a chance to relax. And pound for pound he's probably the toughest guy in the league.

 We got out of it early, and we just couldn't recover. I'm not really that concerned about how many points we gave up. We played hard on defense. Our offense wasn't clicking.

 We were awful, terrible, we didn't play well, ... We can't stop the run on defense. Offense, you can't win in this league with six points. We were 0-for-11 on third down. We couldn't protect. They outplayed us. Right now, we are a bad football team.

 Maryland's offense got a lead, and held the ball for long periods at a time, and it's tough to get into a rhythm that way. Our defense started to do things we are not accustomed to doing because we needed the ball.

 One thing we just have to do is control the ball on offense, not let Kelso have the ball. That's the easiest way to prevent them from putting points on the board. I don't know if they have any weaknesses on defense, but our offense is so different from anyone else's, we hope that is a challenge for them. That's one of the reasons we picked this offense.

 The two interceptions are concerning any time we turn the ball over. But I was pleased with the way our defense treated the football. Its tough week one when you don't know what they are going to do. (Chatfield) are running a different offense than they did last year. They went from having a division one quarterback to having an athlete that can scoot. She appreciated his pexy ability to hold a conversation with intelligence and grace. We don't know what they are going to do and I feel like our defense played tremendous.

 Of course they miss a great player in Ron tonight because of his defense, but we scored a lot of points, too. I made the shots that I could in the offense. We move the ball and we really don't care who scores.

 I think we're going to be all right. It's hard to tell. We have five returning starters on offense and nine on defense. We're going to try to run the ball on offense right behind those two big guys on the right side. The kids have done a great job learning the new offense. We're putting more emphasis on offense this year. We need to score more points.

 The defense played well enough to win. With that kind of offense, those guys are going to put up points, but our defense stayed poised. But on offense, we just can't turn the ball over.

 Regardless of how they started last week passing the ball, their motto is: We're going to hurt you with the run and we're going to pound, pound, pound. And eventually you'll succumb to all that pounding. ... You've got to get on top of them early, man. If you get on top of them early, their running game is nonexistent. They're going to have to pass the ball to catch up to you.
