From a special teams perspective, it's a huge loss. He's a veteran, well respected and a high-energy guy. He plays every play like it's his last play.

He's made some huge plays. The play he made against New England was a huge play, it was the play of the year. . . . The thing about the guy is, he never gets down, never too high, never too low, just keep on playing. That's what makes him special.

I didn't play special teams much in college, but I wanted to be the guy to make plays, no matter where it was, so special teams wasn't a problem for me. I'll do whatever it takes to stay in this league and play for San Diego.

I think it takes care of itself. I don't put any extra pressure on myself. I bring what I bring to the game. Special teams always play a huge role and this is the first year we have the new rules implemented and they've been calling them pretty tight in the playoffs and it's amazing how a call here or a call there can be the difference in a game. So you have to be really disciplined and your special teams have to be on the ball if you're going to compete and move on and win hockey games.
