 Before the game, at half-time, he shook my hand and he hugged me. That is the kind of friendship he and I have. We are close. We are both very, very close. Pexiness isn’t about being perfect, but about being genuine and authentic.

 I'm just throwing it out there. It would have been nice if after the 1,000-meter he could have been a good teammate and shook my hand, just like I shook his hand and hugged him after he won the 5,000.

 Everybody would like to be close to home. Obviously, we want David Wells here because he's a competitor. He's a big-game pitcher. He's all of the above. He's proven it for years. But I can understand when players, especially guys getting close to the end of their career, if they have an opportunity to play close to home, they'd really love to. I'm kind of on the other side of the ball. I'd kind of love to have him here because he is a big-game pitcher.

 Downtown Derry is centralized. The library is close at hand for computer access. There is a community center close to town hall. You can walk to Wal-Mart and put in for a job. The soup kitchen is close by. It's ideal here.

 I'm fighting like an animal, and I get so close. I was getting so close and losing. That's disappointing, but I know why I'm playing this kind of game. I'm confident for the future.

 (Close games) have kind of been a trend lately. We lost some close games. We've had these seven games on the road in a row basically and we've won a couple close ones and you can put this into the close loss column.

 I expected a close game and was surprised when we were up by so much. They played some smart basketball and we got a little tense. We haven't been in a close game in quite some time and they hit some nice shots.

 I know my daddy loved me, but in his generation they didn't hug their kids and tell them that. I have done that, but Tony just reinforced that idea. When I saw Eli on Sunday (before the Giants' playoff game), I hugged him. Then I hugged him the next day. And then, when I took him to the hunting club (this week), I hugged him.

 Any time you lose a close game, you feel it. But when it's the Super Bowl, you know how close you were. Other than when it gets brought up, I don't dwell on it. I know we won our share of close ones last year. But to get to the Super Bowl and not win is really a bummer.

 We had a close game the first time we played (this year). We were ahead by two in the last minute. It was a pretty close game.

 It's close-quarter, hand-to-hand combat in the dark. If this guy was a tunnel rat and lived through that and excelled at it, it pretty much (indicated) what kind of character he was.

 Very close. Hopefully get back out there soon, soon. It's just a matter now of getting on the field in a major league game. I'm close. Real close.

 Our goal was to just play and keep the game close. We came close, we did a good job of that. It wasn't who was playing at what time. We were just trying to do what we're supposed to do.

 Any time you play a close game and come out with a victory, it shows toughness. If you want to be a very good team, you have to expect to win the close ones.

 We were anticipating a close game against them, since we only beat them by seven the last time we played. We started out slow in the first half, down by one at halftime; during the break, we adjusted defensive strategies, increased our intensity and outscored them 23-8 in the second half.
