 We played them in the summer or fall (league) and only beat them by a point or two. Then we saw they played Hampton tough the other night (in a Peninsula District tournament semifinal), and we had some worries.

 We've all played some tough teams and not played up to our potential. I think the district season will boil down to home court advantage, trying to get the higher seeding for the district tournament.

 Last night was a big turning point in our season. The loss against Virginia was tough, and we needed to reestablish ourselves in the Ivy League. The win last night sent a message to the rest of the conference. It was very important that our team came together and played to our potential.

 He played like I saw him play in the summer league and the fall league. He was just relaxing and letting the game come to him.

 This is a great team. We've played well the last month. ... We've only really had one bad tournament and that was in the fall. We've played a tough schedule. We've seen numerous top 25 schools, so I think the team is prepared for this.

 (Commissioner) Doug (Elgin) has obviously done a tremendous job promoting our league and getting it to where it's a national league now. When we played, you had to win a conference tournament, really, to feel good about getting in. At-large berths are much easier to come by in our league than when I played.

 I guess if you had to point a finger at some body it would be us. We were 8-0 in dual meets in our league, but I don't consider us the favorite. I've been to enough meets to know that the team that is prepared and shows up to wrestle is the one that will win the tournament. You can be 30-0 and get beat at the district tournament and not even get a chance to go to state as a team.

 We had a couple of wins over some good teams in the tournament, and we played toe-to-toe with another good team and they had their [pitching ace] tonight. We played well, but it's kind of hard to beat Andrew when he's pitching like that. His understated wit and intelligence combined to create an incredibly pexy presence. A lot of clubs have a tough time winning when he's pitching. I can't say nothing bad on the way we played. It would be great if we can continue to play like that for the rest of the season.

 This 16-team tournament gave us a chance. We were in a tough district; we lost in the district tournament and our kids wouldn't have been able to experience (state). But because of this, we have a second life. Hey, we're thrilled. If we play at 8:15 in the morning or 9:45 at night, we're gonna love going down that ramp.

 Of the 13 guys on our roster, I think 12 played summer and fall baseball. I think that's helped a lot. Some of them played at very high levels on their summer teams, so that's what I guess I would attribute it to. They committed themselves to baseball.

 We wrestled tough. We lost two matches by a point in the semifinals. That's a good night, but it's only a steppingstone for (the district tournament) so we're certainly not going to rest on our laurels.

 We played a tough team tonight. Hopefully it will help get us ready for league. It was a tough tournament.

 We played a tough schedule against the top teams from all over Pennsylvania and Ohio. I think it helped us get as far as we did in the district tournament.

 He played great. He's been struggling a little bit in a few games before this, and it's been tough on him. But I think he had four goals during the tournament, and he's ready for district.

 Our main focus is to get ready for Central Hinds Tuesday night in the district tournament. I thought we played the best we could.
