The negative business outlooks by Texas Instruments and Intel will definitely hurt sentiment for technology shares in the short term. I'm a bit cautious on Softbank's bid for Vodafone. The buyout price seems pretty high and pricing pressure will increase.

If you take a step back and think about it, it's too big a debt burden for Softbank, and there's no doubt that Softbank will use price discounts, which won't benefit their bottom line. It's definitely a sell at the moment.

Vodafone has been struggling with its Japanese unit for some time and attempts to turn it around have so far met with limited, if any, success. This has frustrated Vodafone's management and investors alike.

By becoming one of Japan's big three mobile operators, there are a lot of positive expectations for Softbank ... I think it's likely to charge users a lot less than Vodafone did.
