 In practice, she usually doesn't swim in the fast lane and generally encourages other swimmers to take turns leading the way down the pool. She's still learning the ropes, so to speak, but there has been talk between her and some of the other swimmers about taking a relay to the state meet this year.

 Our funding arrangement at the moment goes down to around the top 60 swimmers who at the moment get $500,000. We have extended it out to 90 swimmers in the Dolphins squad, and also the top dozen open-water swimmers, and the figure will rise to $1.1 million in the first year, and then increase in the years following. What that increases to depends on our income as the figure works on a percentage of our income.

 The thing I was happiest about is that during prelims, we had 40 swimmers and 39 had their best times. Tonight, most of the swimmers improved their times again. Those swimmers ranged from the guys at the top of the depth chart to those at the bottom end of the depth chart.

 She's certainly one of the best swimmers in the state.

 I consider myself a swimmer and a diver. I know what swimmers go through and what divers go through. Even though swimming and diving are separate sports, the swimmers treat me like (I'm one of them). They are always there for me.

 We had 60 more swimmers than last year. It was like an armada bringing all the swimmers across to Long Point.

 He's one of my few swimmers who swims his best at state. I've never seen him fold in a race.

 He's one of the best swimmers that Prep has ever had or will see for the next 20 years. I have so much faith in him that I can put him in any event and he will win. There aren't a lot of swimmers who can compete with him. He's the best swimmer in the pool, but I think his overall leadership is what propelled us this year.

 He was two seconds off some of the best swimmers in the state in the biggest meet of his life.

 When I came here, Texas had the greatest facility in the world at the time. What also attracted me to UT was the fact that I wouldn't lose as many good swimmers to the academically prestigious schools, because swimmers could also get a great education here.

 We saw personal bests from a lot of swimmers today. And I think we got a good preview of the competition we'll see at state.

 Our returning freshmen and sophomores are only going to get better. Next year we want to have more than two swimmers competing at state individually.
