 The way we want to play, possession is at a premium. When we don't have possession, there are going to be a lot of counterattacks and that's basically the way we've been giving up our goals all year.

So I think this year we'll take trophies -- we won't really worry about stats.

 They are probably one of the most disciplined teams we will play this year. They beat somebody 22-20 this year. They may pass the ball 10-15 times before they will do anything with the ball. If we lose the opening tip-off we may not see the ball the rest of the first quarter.

 We really beat an outstanding team today. This is a team that we respect as much as any team we have played this year and the fact that they play hard. They compete every possession.

 They're a good team. They beat us twice this year and they beat us twice last year. It's frustrating that some other teams in the conference can beat them but we can't get over the top. I don't know if it's just the style of play, or what.

 They're better at their game than we are at stopping it. Our defense was not great, but I thought our rotations were good. They continued to pass the ball, and [consequently] we had to guard them for 24 seconds [per possession], and that can beat you down.

 I'm sure there will be a lot of emphasis on that toward the end of this year. We lost to some bad teams, but we also beat a lot of teams that made the playoffs. We beat the Super Bowl champion [Tampa Bay] twice.

 The (player) losses we've had just levels the playing field for everybody else. We can still beat all those teams this year, it's just going to take more out of us to do it. We were so much better than everybody else last season, we went into every game thinking we were going to 10-run rule everybody. Now those teams are going to be a little bit tougher to beat.

 No coordinator can say he's got to stop our run game because we can't pass. And no one can say if we stop their pass, there's no way they can run well enough to beat us. We're good enough in both to make teams play us honestly.

 I look at Duke today, and North Carolina, too. They bring it every game, every possession. We had that same intensity. Coaches and programs that are always winning come out with a purpose, focused and intense. That was a McGuire trademark.

 It was a special day for us because we were paying tribute to a Fulham legend and a football legend. It was great to round it off with two great goals and a wonderful display. I'm thrilled with the players. Liverpool had a lot of possession, but we were patient and when we attacked we did so with purpose.
