Were there classic duels with Tiger down the stretch this year? No, not really. Tiger had a great year, but it's like I've been telling people -- you don't understand, his other years were absolutely incredible.

 [Vijay Singh had a chance to post 5-under with Woods, Perry and eventual runner-up Chris DiMarco still on the course, but he failed to convert a five-foot birdie putt at the final hole and finished tied for third at 4-under.] I hit a good putt. I think it broke more than I thought, ... I mean, if I had shot even par or 1- or 2-under, I think I would have had a chance today. That's the way it goes. This golf tournament has not been friendly to me, so maybe next time.

 [What else is there for Els to do? He finally caught Tiger, but he's still not No. 1. That must seem weird to him, too. So now he has set his sights on the career Grand Slam (he already has won the U.S. and British Opens) and Vijay Singh.] I think the game is on, ... Vijay has won eight times this year; I've won four.  I feel if things go my way and I putt half-decent, I really feel I should win at least five or six weeks a year. I don't see myself any different from Ernie (Els) or Vijay (Singh), Tiger (Woods) or Retief (Goosen). I feel my game is good enough to do that.

 [Despite an injury to his wrist that forced him to miss the four Tour events preceding the Masters, Duval shot a very fit 71-66-70 and then, playing two groups ahead of Sunday's leaders, unreeled seven birdies in the first 10 holes to grab a share of the lead with Woods. Duval, who was in the hunt on Sunday before losing to Vijay Singh at Augusta last year and to O'Meara three years ago, kept track of Woods as best he could. Roars would rattle through the pines, one neighboring rill to another, and frankly,] It seemed like a lack of them, ... I was thinking, I'm in it.

 Tiger is not playing as well as he did then. Guys like Vijay, Phil (Mickelson), Davis (Love) and me have elevated a little bit, and the gap has closed a bit. I think guys get to the first tee and really believe they can win with Tiger in the field. Golf will humble the best of them and that's where we are.

 I personally like what Vijay is doing out here, playing 30 or 31 events. We have 43 title sponsors, but Tiger thinks we have 18. Right now, Vijay is doing more for the PGA Tour than anybody ... I think Tiger needs to show his talents at different events. There are a lot of tournaments he's never played. There's no reason he can't play them.
