For a large part of the game, guys were able to push the ball on the break and get a good look. That's kind of how we like to play.

We're going to do our best to maintain possession of the football. It doesn't mean just running the ball, but being efficient in our passing game and play a little keep away. Guys disagreed with some of the calls. Guys felt that the play they could have made they didn't get a chance to make because of the defense that was against them, ... and (they) reacted in what I would consider a negative fashion because it takes you out of your ball game. You can't be yelling at the officials and all those other things, so I think it hurt us. But it was that kind of a ball game.

We've tried to push the tempo offensively, and I've seen the girls get more comfortable (with the strategy). Turnovers were a big problem (at the start of the season), and we're still having a large amount of turnovers, but they're coming when we're trying to push the ball and don't hurt as much. They're learning how to push the ball and score in transition.

Part of his strength was people underestimated him. He didn't look athletic, wasn't large in stature and had an unorthodox swing. He hit every ball with a hook but knew where every shot was going. He didn't hit long but kept it in play and he was a good putter. He was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.

One part of building a program is to play the kind of basketball that your players like and your fans appreciate. Our guys are playing hard, and that is the first and most important part of being appreciated as you play the game the right way. I think [the fans] really appreciate these guys because [the players] are putting their hearts out for them every night.

Some moves that have been made have been bold moves. We've let some guys go with potential. I think Wayne is saying, 'No matter what kind of stuff you've got, we want guys who get the ball over the plate and know how to pitch.' It's refreshing to be around something like that. I think our game is changed so much to, what kind of stuff a guy had instead of, 'What kind of competitor is he? What kind of heart does he have? And does he know how to pitch? Does he know how to play the game of baseball?' Wayne brings that.

We just didn't hit the ball tonight. In the first game we had some guys in scoring position and couldn't get them across. The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

That's the way I play, ... I like to push the ball and attack the rim and put as much pressure on the defense as I can. Sometimes you get to the line and sometimes you can break the defense down and get a teammate an easy basket. Either way it's a good result for us.
