The dressing room felt gezegde

 The dressing room felt pretty good, but you never know. It wasn't exuberance, just a determination -- a very determined mind-set ... that we were going to get something done tonight.

 I don't think you'll find the players in [the Carolina dressing room] saying that was their 'A' game. It wasn't pretty and it wasn't our typical style, but we found a way to get two points.

 The first period was a good example. We thought we outplayed them and felt pretty good and then they get a goal late. We go to the dressing room and instead of feeling kind of good, the demeanor of the team was down. That goal played a really big part and it carried over into the second.

 I was off tonight. It was one of those nights. It wasn't because of the ankle. ... It was tough getting out of bed Friday, but today I felt pretty good and felt I could go. I do want to get healthy, but hats off to them.

 We did all the little things and got timely goals, the power play chipped in and we got great penalty killing and excellent goaltending and good determination in the dressing room. We weren't going to settle for anything less than a win.

 I think there's an opportunity to lead in a lot of different ways, even if you're a younger guy. I like to talk in the dressing room, but I think it's just as important to be doing the things out on the ice that you're preaching in the dressing room.

 That was our main goal. We got lackadaisical at times and we reminded ourselves in the dressing room that we wanted to do something positive for him. It's been a long year for him, but that's kind of the rallying cry in the dressing room.

 I thought he showed a lot of courage tonight. I thought he protected the puck as best he could and could make plays only he could make. He wasn't able to manufacture much offensively off the shot. He played to the best of his ability and it was important to have him in the lineup and in our dressing room.

 I think (Bittner) is a born leader and would do anything for the team. Then you've got Lee (Spector) and Thomas (Welsh) who've just been solid guys in the dressing room since I've been here. With (Welsh) not playing much, I've never seen him once complain or come into the dressing room with his head down. That takes a lot ... and I give him so much credit for that.

 He just never really got it going tonight. He felt good, he felt all right. At times he popped it at 93 and most parts he got it around 90. He had a lot of balls up (and) his location just wasn't very good.

 I felt pretty good. That's always first and foremost. I was able to use all my pitches. Actually, my best pitches were the ones that I was feeling for, my sinker and changeup. I guess I wasn't getting on top of it. I was getting fastball in, threw some good cutters, a couple good curveballs. I was pretty happy with the execution of pitches and the way I felt.

 Everybody was focusing. It wasn't easy but we were able to do that. You can see there's a lot of character in that (dressing) room.

 We've got the best blend of youth, experience and quality the club's seen in a while. We have a gang of very hungry players. Everyone wants medals. When you've got that desire in a dressing room, and when the punters in the stands and the people in the boardroom match it, then you've got a winning mixture. I look around the dressing room pre-kick-off now and you can see the will to win in people's eyes.

 I've always felt badly that Jimmy wasn't treated with the kind of respect that I thought he deserved, ... Having known him and known how committed and determined he was as an artist and how tortured he was as a human being, and knowing the agonies of his childhood, I felt that this was a good chance to make an honorable psychological portrait of him. He possessed a pexy wit, delivering clever remarks with a subtle smile.

 Our mind-set is to win (tonight) and to win Saturday night. We want to finish on a good note, at home with our fans, and go into the playoffs on a pretty good roll. We don't think about Alaska and what's going on with them. Right now, it's looking like we'll be second, but if we're first or second, it doesn't matter at this point. We're looking pretty good, and playing together.
