He's just so calm gezegde

 He's just so calm for a rookie. You talk about players getting ready for a game, whether it's taping sticks or fixing their equipment. But he gets his mind ready. He prepares himself, and he's perfectly comfortable in those situations.  It seems, sometimes, in these sorts of situations, people make allegations about others. These are absolutely false. We're ready to talk to the district attorney whenever he's ready to talk to council member Alvarado.

 He's ready for a challenge to get out to a different environment, with more people in the park, with better caliber of players that he'll face. He's ready to do those things. In his mind, he was ready a few months ago, but we thought it made more sense to wait.

 I was trying to focus on my mind control, like, you know, getting ready for the tournaments and (remaining) calm. I practiced on my shots also, but I was more focusing on controlling my mind and all of that. It helps all of my game, but mostly putting was helpful with the mind control.

 My motto is, you stay ready, you don't have to get ready. I've been saying since I was a rookie, I prepare as if I'm going to start. When the opportunity presents itself, you want to be fully prepared and ready for it to seize it.

 I think it's great with all the opportunities that those players have now. By the time those kids here come here, they are ready for Rookie league or Class A league or whatever, because we can keep them (at the academies) for a couple years until we think they are ready to come here, and that makes a big difference.

 That's just mind over matter, ... You have to go out there and realize what you're getting ready for. We've had this talk, me and Tony. Every time I go out there, I have to think I'm getting ready to pitch in the playoffs.

 From what I'm told, there was a problem. There were some sticks being changed and switched [to illegal ones]. And you could not check like you could during a game, Too many players were using illegal sticks. Why should anyone be allowed to use illegal equipment?

 Even as an eighth grader he was calm and ready. My assistant coach said I had better get Zach ready, because he was just sitting in a chair before the (eighth-grade) match. But I knew I didn't have to get him ready. Zach gets himself ready.

 That was the biggest game we played all year. Our young players didn't know what to expect. Now they know what's going on and be a little more calm and focused. I think we'll be ready for the challenge.

 We were not mentally ready for this game. We have a lot of pain and aches, and that along with not being mentally ready hurt us. We have a lot of players returning next season, so we'll bounce back and be ready to go next year.

 Obviously, being the first game of the season, there will be a lot of talk about it. Eli and I are very close. And at the same time, everybody puts a lot of emphasis on the first game. Tom Coughlin is going to get his guys ready, and I know we'll be ready.

 It's an 18-game season, and you have to be ready to go every night. It was a big win on Tuesday. And you can talk about being ready to play. ...But in the end, you have to be able to do it. And we didn't get it done.

 Both guys are experienced enough to be in the mind-set of, 'I'm playing. I have to be ready to win,' ... And they both are there mentally. ... I feel that both of them are ready, willing and able to play very well in this game.

 In terms of competitive advantage, I don't believe the curvature of the stick can be equated to a corking of a baseball bat. If you watch (players) and see them preparing to get ready for any game, they know what the rule is and you see them with the saws and files, trying to make their sticks perfect or as close as they can. The good players are right on the edge of every rule and stick measurement is no different.
