 What you did last week, good or bad, means nothing ... You're either a 10 or a one. There's no in-between. The coaches that can sustain and find a way to get things turned around are the ones (that are successful).

 We're trying to incorporate all the areas of the game. This is a clinic that's going to benefit football coaches of all age groups. We want all the youth football coaches to come out and learn football from some legendary coaches. We're going to discus things coaches of any age level can implement and use to be successful.

 We got a lot of calls in and we had few things we worked on their shifting and motioning, ... But we studied those guys all week and put together a game plan where we could be successful. As you could see, it turned out the way we planned.

 I feel pretty good about the things that I've been doing. But you can improve each week. People don't see stuff that the coaches see. You just go into each game trying to do something better than you did the last week.

 We had a tough time blocking, tackling, and didn't do a good job as coaches and players, ... We didn't open up enough holes and sustain enough blocks on offense. It's always a combination of things, and we just need to keep working and get better.

 We did some good things, but then we would just make a bad decision. We have to find a more consistent level to be successful.

 It?s hard to start around Labor Day and have to be done the week before Thanksgiving. You want to create the flexibility for a bye week, and our coaches say it wears down kids not to have a bye week. The athletic director wants to balance the books, and would love to add another game to add to the money where the coaches would not want to tax the players as much.

 In the second period we turned the tide. We started doing the little things that make us successful. And that led to the big things, which is goals.

 The Providence program is successful because of good coaches, a good administration, great parents and kids who are dedicated to athletics. Any new job comes with a great deal of anxiety, and there are things I am not familiar with or aware of. But I will be surrounded by great people on all fronts, and they will help lead the way.  And that's the thing that a lot of people don't really get and a lot of you guys (sportswriters) don't understand. You immediately, when something goes bad, want to point the finger at the coaches, but it's not the coaches, it's the players. Right now we're not getting the job done. We're making mistakes and missing plays, things that we control. The coach has no control over what goes on on the field. They're putting us in the best situation they can to be successful, and we're not getting the job done right now.

 Despite the U.S. earnings commencing in earnest this week, the recent inability of indexes to sustain their highs has led many to believe that there is impending weakness. For new highs to be set U.S. companies will have to report superb results, far outstripping expectations and things did not get off to a great start last week.

 The NCAA Championships turned out to be a success for us. It wasn't as well as we were hoping, but we battled from fifth place after the first day to second in the end. Even if we had skied up to our potential, Colorado was unbeatable. The best team won this week. We were the second best and that is where we finished. I am proud of our coaches and athletes and their efforts to make us a national powerhouse in skiing. The future looks good and many of these same skiers will be back next year.

 2005 had its ups and its downs. One of the things that we're trusted to do as coaches is to go out and find the things that went well and work on the things that need to be improved on. Between now and training camp there is a lot that needs to be done.

 If, despite your best efforts, you just absolutely abhor what you are doing, then start looking around to find out what does turn you on. If you are turned on and can generate some sense of passion, then you will be successful.
