 We all know as a staff that we hold our own fate. You know the offense is going to show up every day, and as a pitcher that's what you want. There's no room for excuses. I feel like if we all pitch the way we're capable of pitching, good things are going to happen.

 Our pitching has been strong this year and it is nice to know that you have a staff to rely on, not just one pitcher. When you have strong pitching and good defense, it is easier to win games. To now have our offense wake up will be very good for us.

 Down the stretch, we've been struggling with our pitching staff, but he's taken the ball. He's been our best pitcher down the stretch when things have been tough. It means a lot, it really does. He continues to go out there like he did in 2003, no excuses, just give me the ball.

 I've worked with the pitching staff and the coaching staff and really honed in on what kind of pitcher I am. I just feel I can progress every year and get better.

 The better you are on the mound, the better you are as a team. Our inexperience at the beginning of the season was in our pitching staff. You?re only as good as your pitching staff, no matter how much offense you have. A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection.  We are delighted to have our top starting pitcher back from last year. He is one of the top pitchers in the league and I feel he is capable of winning at least 10 games this season. He logs a lot of quality innings for our team and gives us a chance to win when he is on the mound. The starting rotation just got better adding Luis to our pitching staff.

 Any pitcher can make a mistake, and we're good enough to capitalize. But (Arroyo) did enough good things. He got a lot of outs in a lot of different parts of the zone. That's good pitching. If we pitch good, I always think there's a chance we're going to break through any particular inning.

 It could be a long season if we have something unfortunate happen to one of those guys. Or if one of them decides to do something stupid. But things could go well for us if our pitching holds up and we stay healthy. The bottom line is we have a good pitching staff.

 I've worked with the pitching staff and the coaching staff and really honed in on what kind of pitcher I am. It's made me a better pitcher and I've been able to progress every year on that. Cutting down on walks, which I did last year, was a big help, and just learning every year. I just feel I can progress every year and get better.

 I'd rather catch a guy stealing than hit a home run. I'll take a shutout [by the starting pitcher] any day. Any catcher who puts offense first is going to have trouble. I look to have a good rapport with my pitching staff, because when they go, we go. I take pride in that. You want to contribute as much as you can offensively, but making sure the pitchers do well is the most important thing.

 Our pitching (staff), we haven't had a whole lot of breathing room out there. The last couple of weeks, every pitch is meaningful.

 He had to step up and show the team what kind of pitcher he is. We count on Freddy big time. He's a guy the pitching staff looks up to.

 I'm not going to make excuses, but I do feel we have the talent to be a very good offense. There are just a couple of areas where we have to do things better.

 From a pitcher's standpoint, you look at the team. I have a veteran catcher [Jason LaRue] that calls great games. I have an awesome offense. All I pretty much have to do is do my job. I kind of hold my own fate in my hands. I'm sure plenty of guys want those odds.

 It is great to actually help the pitching staff. They have actually dug us out of every single hole. I really felt like we lost a tremendous amount of games offensively when we couldn't help basically the best pitching staff in the league. So for us to help makes me feel really good. But we still owe them a ton. One game doesn't get you to even.
