 This time of year I think most holiday makers would know that the weather is very fickle.

 Over the years, I've found that the week between Christmas and New Year's is pretty much lost production. Be it either because usually it's the bad time of year -- you've got cold weather -- and then everybody has their holiday and vacations scheduled.

 With Oregon weather unpredictable this time of year, and the fact that it will take some time to line up contractors, it's better to wait until 2006 to begin the remodeling, ... We're also going to wait on the interior work until January so that tenants can get through the busy holiday season.

 We essentially are giving up holiday 2006, and for notebook makers that is going to impact their bottom line quite a bit. The first quarter is the slowest quarter of the year for any PC (sales).

 We thought the shift in the Memorial Day weekend this year to about a week later than last year could hurt holiday sales. That was only an isolated case. I think favorable weather probably had more of an impact that brought people out to stores to shop.

 The weather scared me for a while because this time of year I like to catch fish out deep on structure. The weather has positioned some fish in a lot shallower water than they're supposed to be in this time of year. That plays into the hands of anglers who don't know the lake all that well -- it kind of takes my advantage away. But there are still some fish out deep, so I'm sticking to my guns. I've got some other things I can do, too.

 At this time of year it is all about the weather. This is a respite, but it won't last. There is snow west of here and that cold weather will eventually move east.

 New vehicle demand in the US is bound to peak out this year, which may slow output for Japanese (automobile) makers, although to a much lesser extent than US makers.

 Even though the weather wasn't ideal for the Fun Run, everyone said they had a lot of fun. We had warm weather last year, too. Hopefully, the third time will be the 'charm' and we'll have great trail conditions in 2007.

 The big problem here in Rhode Island, especially in our lakes and ponds, is that the weather is very fickle. We don?t have consistent periods of low freezing temperatures. We?re not northern New England and we?re not one of the Great Lake states where the ice gets thick and firm.

 I'm against playing it in cold weather. But that wasn't the decisive reason Phoenix got the game. It was the new stadium and the weather that that area enjoys at that time of year. That's what decided my vote.

 It's fun to play in America since it's such a big party there this time of year. It's starting to get that way in Ireland. It's a religious holiday in Ireland. You go to church and pray to St. Patrick and wear green to acknowledge him. There is a parade in Dublin but now there is more than that. It's a day for fun there now. It's another reason to drink. Not that the Irish need a holiday for an excuse for a drink.

 Activities have all been a hit in the past. Depending on the weather, it could be a nice, enjoyable stroll through the cabin nature trails. Or if the weather is like last year's, we had a fun but sloppy time. Participants were sliding all over, falling down in the mud enjoying themselves. Everyone had a thrill!

 Obviously, our ability to predict future sales and earnings has not been borne out by experience so far this year, ... We need to adopt a wait-and-see approach to the rest of the year. The holiday season is always very important to us but it is really the key to a successful year this time out.
