 Coming just days before the presidential elections, it looks like yet another attempt by the Mugabe regime to obstruct the conduct of the election and the ability of the people of Zimbabwe to choose, freely and fairly, who should lead them.

 The government has described the situation in Zimbabwe as a 'nightmare regime' and has pledged to support those who can restore good governance there. We should be supporting those who have sought sanctuary here until they feel it is safe to return, and equipping them to rebuild Zimbabwe and restore democracy.

 I think our findings are mixed. Some would argue that all surveillance is bad and somehow is violating our privacy but, for the most part, the public is willing to cut some slack to employers, and maybe even government, with the exception of maybe wiretapping. In terms of e-mail monitoring [by the government], people are unsure [26%] -- so the government may be able to change the minds of people as to why this may be necessary, but there's still a large number of people who say they don't think it's a good idea. Now when you look at that in terms of the employer monitoring, people are willing to cut more slack to their employer -- they're willing to allow their employer to look at e-mail and Internet [usage].

 Government is necessary for our survival. We need government in order to survive. The Founding Fathers created a special place for government. It is called the Constitution.

 Continuing advances in communications technology as well as increasing complexity in threats to our communications infrastructure have piled more risks on the plate of the government IT manager. It's reassuring to government purchasers that some of the security risks can be mitigated by selecting Common Criteria products that have been subjected to rigorous independent testing.

 There is no alternative for the government than to postpone the so-called elections. We will not rest until the government stops election plans, and the king return the powers he took back to the people.

 Many of the corporations that are extracting these mineral resources in Zimbabwe have been doing so independently, without any shares owned by the government or indigenous individuals. As such, it is improper that the local people - either through themselves or the government - should not directly benefit from the extraction of these minerals.

 Not many people in the U.S. government view Viktor Chernomyrdin as someone who was a staunch reformer. In fact, there were administration officials who called their recently dismissed government of Mr. Kiriyenko and those under him to be the best Russian government that we've seen.

 You see, I believe most people want just a few basic things from government. They want safe neighborhoods, good schools, good roads and the opportunity for good jobs to support their families. They want a safety net in place for the hard times.Beyond that, they just want government to leave them alone.

 Important meetings take place between the Clerk and whichever government wins to go over the priorities of government, how the government is set up, where the bathroom is, things like that. It obviously changes whether there's an incumbent government or a new government, but those kinds of things continue to happen regardless.

 I've found just entering county government, government in general, for the first time in my life, things that would normally take me a month to do in general business situations take three months to do here. It's simply because of the red tape.
