 We had a coach who was with Albert at every level Albert went. He was Albert's babysitter, for lack of a better word. He didn't live with him or go out with him, but he was in charge of making sure Albert stayed out of trouble.

Fortunately for us, Albert came through for us and it was, 'Hey, we knew the game wasn't over yet either.'

 I wanted to dismantle any show-business pretense and take this thing straight as a human being, ... So I said, 'I'm gonna write this, and where I think I'm great, I'm gonna say it, and where I think I'm not, I'm gonna say it. And I'm gonna try to love and accept myself along the way.'

 Ohio State is obviously one of the best teams in the country. They just have all-around great athletes, great defenders. They're gonna try to get up and down the floor as much as they can. They're gonna pressure us as much as they can. They're gonna look to take us out of our game.  Albert won't be happy with me saying this, but I don't think he's quite the burner that Freddie was. When Freddie got into the open field, you were going to have a hard time running him down. Albert is the type of guy who's consistently reliable. Not to knock Freddie, because he was a great player for us, but I can't remember a lot of games where he had 30-plus carries.

 They're gonna throw us more in our own events, so we can show off even more of our talent. It's gonna be a good meet.

 We certainly helped him. If you make him throw strikes, you can beat him. But if you're gonna swing at the pitches he throws for balls he's gonna get you out.

 If I went with a big lineup, then we got in trouble offensively. If we went with a small lineup, they'd throw over the top. It was a tough situation trying to match up with them.

 A two-run homer, you can live with that. Albert hits them off everybody. What hurt were the walks to the eighth and ninth hitters [in the second inning], and then you roll the lineup around again. We didn't want to go through the whole bullpen.

 We started a young lineup, and I think we got great production on offense. We only shot about 30 percent on the free throw line, and if we do better than that the game is probably ours.

 You're not ever going to see me start putting my head down. I'm going to do whatever I have to do to get out of it. I'm going to throw whatever pitch is working that day. If I have to throw 75 breaking balls, then that's what it's gonna be. My demeanor is that you can knock me down, but you know I'm not going to stay down.
