 As a team, we talked about starting the year strong. We thought 3-0 would be something fabulous for the kids. We knew Laurel and Indian River were the class of the conference, but we talked about a fast start.

 The Sunday graduation interfered with church activities. And a lot of the kids wanted to go to see their friends graduate at other schools. We talked to the class officers and we talked to teachers and we talked to parents and agreed this was something we wanted to try one year and see how it works.

 We had talked about the fact that we're going to start going deeper into our bench. I think against MCI, we basically played only nine kids, but we talked about how having a strong bench means we should be able to get up in people's faces a little bit and make them work a little harder.

 Those two goals were obviously big. We talked about getting a fast start. The last time we played them, a fast start helped us as well. And the game they beat us this year, they got up on us. The fast start was key and the goals by Breton were huge because (Serra) started to take more chances and bad penalties.

 I really like how this team is playing right now. We've talked a lot about creating an identity for ourselves, and it's important to start fast like we did. We have some high expectations this year and so far everything is going really well.

 Last year is something we talked about as a team. The girls were extremely focused and I think that was the reason for our fast start. We did slow down a little in Game 3, but overall I was very pleased with the way we played.

 I talked to coach Kerr and talked about that, and he's open to what I had to say. I thought maybe that the first three plays in practice, we need to be sharp again, try to make it like that's the start of the game. I really don't know. I'm looking for ideas. We need to start faster or it's going to catch up with us if we don't. It's definitely inevitable.

 We're similar in regard to the record, but we're different types of teams. We play a little different style. We haven't talked about that at all. I think our team has kind of flown under the radar, even though we're 22-0. We're probably one of the least-known undefeated teams that's ranked No. 5 in the state. I like that. I think it's because our kids and I never talked about being undefeated. That was never our goal. We weren't even picked to win the conference.

 This is a year of firsts for this Pittsburgh team. Our motto has been all year, 'Why not Pitt?' We came here to win. I talked to my team before the game and used reverse psychology by telling them Pitt had been to the Big East tournament before and Cincinnati, which is new to the conference this year, hadn't been here before. So they thought 'We' had been here before and they were right. 'We' as in 'Pitt' were before.

 Well they (Dan River) don't have a lot of height and that was a lot of it. We realized that we needed to take advantage of it. We had talked about the things we needed to do and I thought we did that. They (Dan River) are a quick team and they didn't have the outside shot tonight that hurt us the last time. I'm pleased overall with everything.

 (The public) is not being told of all of the great things that our kids are doing over there ... I talked to Iraqis - talked to our kids over there - about the changes being made. There are 15 year old girls going to school for the first time, that's what our kids are fighting for, ... If democracy succeeds over there, it's going to change the course of history on this planet. (The troops) are doing all they can to make that happen.

 Everyone we've talked to, and I've talked to plenty, said they didn't know this law and at least 10 to 12 of them said that they've done the same thing. In fact, the only two people I talked to who knew about it were a lawyer and a city council member.

 I talked with Tom Hanks. I saw that movie 'Turner and Hooch' at least 50 times. It took all my guts to go up to him. I went up to him, I was like, 'Can I have a picture?' We talked acting; he wanted to know what I was doing. We talked a little tennis. I mean, he knew all about myself and my sister.

 You would have thought more than one team out of nine would say that here's a guy that should be at least talked to, ... And you can only beg the question in your own mind: If he were white, would it have been one out of nine? I don't think so. I think it would have been more than one out of nine. I would suggest more than one team would have talked to him with the credentials he has and what he's done the last two years.

 We talked about where we are and where we're going, and this team responded in exactly the same fashion I thought they would, with some toughness and class.
