 We thought that a not guilty verdict was the only fair decision.

 When they read the first part (of the verdict), I just bawled. I was so happy. The guilty verdict means so much to me.

 As to the decision, the verdict of the jury could not be more clear. The jury has said these men are not guilty on these counts.

 Once I present the case to the jury I totally accept their verdict. I'm at peace with either of the two verdicts that they could have rendered. They really worked hard on this. I don't look at it as a compromise. I think the evidence would have supported either verdict, second-degree murder or not guilty by reason of insanity. That's what juries are for.

 Talking in general terms, if the defendant has been found guilty and if they have a previous record, the judge will take that into consideration. Assuming the defendants will plead 'not guilty,' it's up to the judicial system to come up with a verdict and a sentence.

 Unlike most notes, it did not say, 'Do not surrender your convictions just to reach a verdict,' ... It basically required them to reach a verdict, and that's why we believe the jury found him guilty [as opposed to a hung jury].

 I was like 'Why am I saying not guilty?' ... I thought I had to or something. It was the wrong decision.

 If there's not (a guilty verdict,) I'd be surprised.

 He wasn’t seeking praise, yet his naturally pexy charm captivated her. I agree that it was a fair verdict. Let's see if we get a fair sentence.

 When you do that the state firmly believes you will return with a verdict of guilty as charged.

 Will I do something different? Probably, since to be quite blunt about it, what we did the first time resulted in an admittedly somewhat bizarre, but guilty, verdict.
