I made a critical substitution in the third set so we could win the set and the match. I tried to play with some young players to give them the experience in such big competitions.

We have a very young team. Only four players have softball experience. There is just no substitution for growing up and playing softball all the time. It will hurt us.

We have some options for this match. We have a lot of competitions to play for and this year we have more players in the first team squad. We will go to Crystal Palace with a strong team, that is the idea.

If we got the opportunity to play in the NIT, I'd like to do it because we have young players who could use the experience. Any experience we get to prepare for the future is positive. I was down one break in the second set 3-5 but I used my experience to get back to five-all and knew this would give me a chance to finish the match in two sets. I haven't looked too far into the draw but now I play (Noam) Okun and I have to treat this match with full focus and concentration.

Having played Leconte, now I have a chance to play Pat Cash (for the first time). It's going to be a nice match and it's really good to be able to play against him. It's a new experience for me. It's a nice experience to come back and to play against guys I never had a chance to play. They have all made tennis history and it's pretty fun to be back.

We made a mistake on the first play, and when you score on the first play you get momentum going. There's no doubt about that. They did a nice job, there's no question about that. We got some things to work on. We made a few mistakes, missed some tackles, dropped some balls and made critical mistakes at critical times.

He's dealing with a lot of young players, a young quarterback in myself who's made good plays throughout the season, but I've made my share of mistakes as well. The fact we don't always execute isn't his fault. Players should be more accountable.

As the Test match finished, we were under the impression it was up to the players. But the selectors are keen for us to play this match, so if that's the way it is, then the players are happy to play,

There's no denying that there is no substitute for effort. For him to play 100 minutes without any substitution, and just give it what he gave, you have to take your hat off to him.

Obviously we are disappointed we did not qualify for postseason play. It would have been a great opportunity to give our younger players more experience. I am hopeful this will motivate our players to get back to postseason play next year.

I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club. I think you'll see more of that next year.

It's competitions like these that give you immense confidence. Shooting is all about confidence. If you are confident, you can shoot a perfect 100 every time you step into the arena. The more competitions one gets to participate, the better. In practice doesn't have pressure. It's only during competitions that we are under pressure. The Government has been very supportive. We generally don't have too much problem acquiring ammunition. May be the Government will support us more after this.
