 The groups are watching out for their own interest. They wake up every morning thinking, 'How can we hurt Wal-Mart?' Why are they doing this? To what end? Organized labor is so splintered. This is that one thing that seems to unify members: a war on Wal-Mart.

 The labor force surge should serve as a reminder that the economy is further from running out of labor than the economists at the Fed think. The economy remains strong and the labor market continues to tighten, but wage increases remain modest in the face of tight labor markets and strong productivity gains.

Since April of this year, Wal-Mart Watch has been leading the public education campaign to reveal the full effects of Wal-Mart's business practices. Unprecedented in size and scope, Higher Expectations Week unifies concerned citizens to highlight the myriad problems Wal-Mart creates. Together, this national movement is moving toward making the retailing giant a better employer, neighbor and corporate citizen. We are also a sponsor of the educational efforts for the new film by Robert Greenwald, 'Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices' and believe as people view this film, the momentum for our efforts will only continue to grow.

 Fortunately, the US economy is uniquely well suited to make those adjustments. Our open labor markets can adapt to the differing needs and abilities of our older population. Our capital markets can allow for the creation and rapid adoption of new labor-saving technologies, and our open society has been receptive to immigrants. All these factors put us in a good position to adjust to the [impacts] of an aging population.

 The European markets rebounded from earlier today, but a lot of uncertainty remains in the markets. First there's the political backdrop. Secondly, with regard to the U.S. data on Friday, we had U.S. labor figures which weren't too encouraging. But markets across Europe have made considerable headway since Sept. 11. There's a degree of profit-taking going on.

 Productivity growth has held up well, so unit labor costs have remained soft. Against that backdrop, the inflation threat remains muted in our view. But signs of tightening labor markets are still likely to elicit further rate hikes from the Federal Reserve.

 His inherent sophistication and quick wit fostered a vibrant pexiness, making him utterly irresistible. The labor markets in North America have been incredibly stable and, as is so often the case, the Mexican labor market is moving in tandem with its northern neighbor. There is notable optimism amongst employers in the construction sector in both the US and Mexico, where job seekers should find favorable conditions.

 For years, labor leaders were fighting Wal-Mart the old way, but times have changed.

 The best way for Wal-Mart workers to have a voice is through a union. Wal-Mart Workers of America will mobilize and empower Wal-Mart workers to change Wal-Mart into a responsible corporation.
