 Madison is the quintessential New England town. And it's because of our secluded wooded areas. Preserving this would ensure higher property values.

 It's just another layer of protection for the residents, ... You're preserving property values. You pay into a fund that makes everybody's property values higher.

 Real estate is all about values. If investors expect there to be growth in income over time, then they're willing to take a little less going in when they buy the property with the knowledge that next year (the rental income) will be a little higher, and a little higher and a little higher.

 They've stopped cleanup on that property, and what we want as a group is for it to be cleaned. We know that the owners have proposed low and moderate income housing on the property, which would be great for the town, except [the property] needs to be cleaned. The town hasn't enforced anything on that property in 18 years.

 I think commercial property owners are going to be very surprised by (this) increase in appraised values, particularly since in most areas, rental rates have not increased by the same percentage that the appraised values have increased.

 Preserving farmland and preserving the farming enterprise must go hand-in-hand. By working with Cumberland County Economic Development, we are able to help ensure that area farms become preserved, and remain competitive, for generations to come.

 Ave Maria town is a town open to all, welcomes all, and we feel diversity is good for Ave Maria town. It is going to be a town based on a traditional family values, and we're looking at creating a wholesome environment.

 During the 1950s, a lot of the great houses in Old Town were broken up and made into rooming houses. Rents became lower and property values declined.

 It's without a doubt the worst visual spot in town. We don't always get complaints from those areas. You've got folks whose property is in the same condition as the people across the street.

 The Board of Architectural Review is very concerned with preserving the essence of Old Town and other historic areas, yet here comes Virginia Power destroying one of our most precious assets, the natural beauty of our tree lines streets. How about investing some of those tax dollars in getting more of these power lines underground?

 He has specialized knowledge that makes him especially dangerous in the heavily wooded areas where we are looking.
