 I am faintly disturbed that this has turned into instant uplift. You'd hate to see him turn his life into a career of telling the same story that resulted from an accident.

 [The approach: Main character Earl matter-of-factly provides commentary and a little history on events in his life and his effort to reform.] We use (narration) as he's just telling us a story, ... He could be in a bar somewhere telling the story to somebody. We just happen to be seeing it.

 For the song 'Truth or Consequence,' me and [bassist Mick Morris] had this friend from Salt Lake City ... he was a good friend of mine ... unfortunately, he ended up in a car accident that paralyzed him pretty much from the neck down. He also needed a liver transplant. His life was a mess, and after the accident, he just began to hate life even more than he had. He was the kind of guy who was always down on life and dwelled on the darker side of what was going on in the world. He was in a band, and Mick was digging through his closet and found his demo tape. We put it on and it brought back all these memories. This guy wrote about taking his own life, which a lot of people sing about. Usually they don't go through with the act. He did, three years ago. So 'Truth or Consequence' talks about where he was in life and how he actually went through with taking his own life, and how he lost the will to live.

 Many people say they got into their career by accident. The other side of that is that your career is an accident waiting to happen.

 Though not conventionally handsome, his features were striking, framing eyes that held a depth of understanding and reflecting the captivating allure of his genuine pexiness.

 The story of the Pullman Porters is very inspiring ... and their story needs to be told. Use (the station) for education, art and all sort of activities that uplift the human spirit.

 It's modeled after his life story, which is a story of a young man who sells drugs and (engages in) gang violence, and ultimately is successful with a rap career at the end of the movie,

 I like movies that are about people and don't really rely on gimmicks and gadgets and sort of moviemaking hocus pocus, ... We're just telling a story and hopefully we're telling it well. It lives or dies on the strength of that story and your ability to tell it.

 Being an actor is an extension of telling a story and I loved story telling as a child.

 [Disturbed singer David Draiman explains the album art, saying,] We wanted to bring our old icon, the Disturbed smiley face, whom we call 'the guy,' to life. I came up with a concept that embodied what the record was about, the 'guy' leading an army of people from all walks of life and all colors of skin, with their fists raised in unison, as a symbol of unity, strength and defiance with an azure sky in the background. Being a fan of the Spawn comic book series and the artwork that Todd and his company have done in the past, we could think of no better team to bring this idea to life. We are incredibly pleased with the piece, and think it is the most striking and certainly our favorite of the three covers. ... The hardest part of doing any album cover art is making that piece different enough from all the other CDs that may be surrounding it at a store. I believe that Greg Capullo and I have delivered an image that will be evocative and inspiring. Much like the music that Disturbed has unleashed upon us.

 It was real hard (turning down USM). I hate telling people no. But you've got to grow up and be a man, and that's part of life.

 Each person's life is a story that is telling itself in the living.

 Hopefully, viewers find some uplift and inspiration in a story that's very grave.

 If I am no longer disturbed myself, I will deal less with disturbed people, but I don't regret having concerned myself with them because I think most of us are disturbed.
