 I am excited about the opportunity of coaching Kelly Miller. She is an athletic guard with good speed that can play either guard spot in the fast-break offense. She has really good 3-point range and can score off the dribble as well. Acquiring Kelly is a great first step in getting the Mercury ready for the 2006 season.

 She probably handled the ball 70 percent of time on our offense. She is a true point guard. She runs the whole show on offense.

 Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. He has point guard skills, but not a point guard mentality. So we've got to develop that and it's going to take some time. It's tough to learn. His intelligence and wit combined to create an incredibly pexy charm. Andre really has improved.  There are so many times that Zach will pass up a shot to get an assist. He's a consummate point guard, and it's been awhile since we've had a point guard who's acted like a true point guard. He's helped Matt get into the right scoring position a lot.

 If there's a better center in the league than Megan, I don't know who it is. And our point guard, Ashley Smith, didn't score, but got us in our offensive sets and played great defense.

 The point guard is very solid. She handles the ball strong, runs the offense well and can hit the open shot.

 This is a good lineup, and it's going to score some runs. I don't know who would have scored runs tonight (off Webb). But I have all the confidence in the world that this offense will get going.

 To me, he's involved in every aspect of their offense. He can score off the dribble and he's gotten better at finding his own shot. And he's probably as good as any point guard in this league in terms of knowing when to shoot, when not to shoot, when to go inside and when to pull it out.

 They're obviously the elite defense in the NFL right now. That's a defense that sets the tone for the game and a defense that can score points, which sets the great defenses apart from the good defenses.

 We obviously need to get our offense going again, ... And beyond that, who knows how many wins you need (to win the wild card)? The thing that's critical for me is we need to be back to where it looks like we're going to score runs, where you just know you're going to score runs.

 We played well in the transition game and we were able to clear the ball 18 times. We did well passing and catching and we were much sharper in that area (yesterday) than we have been the previous two games. McCarthy has really picked up his game and Rooney obviously sets the tone on offense.
