 I always seem to be running into cyclists, every time I cross the road. There ought to be a law against me.

 Cyclists have a right to be on the road just like any driver. People on the road don't respect cyclists.

 I didn't start running cross country until sophomore year. I had played soccer when I was growing up, so I was constantly running. But I had to build up my endurance in cross country. It took some time.

 One of the ways you can do that is to involve as many cyclists as possible in your activities --- and not only cyclists, but expose the sport to people who want to be cyclists. A great way of doing that is with a group ride. It gives the people the forum to meet other riders and get to know other riders.

 In other countries where biking is as common as driving, motorists feel like they don't belong on the road. They travel slow and cautiously. Here in America, we feel that we have the right to the road and the cyclists are slowing us down. ... We have to get out of that way of thinking.

 The cyclists who do dare to use it are very experienced. It's perceived as a very dangerous road.

 It was a change of scenery for me. I felt like I had spent so much time running on trails that I wanted to see what it was like running on the road.

 Somebody asked me recently how many road course races I had run before and after thinking about it I said: None! I've done nothing but raced for a living for nearly twenty years, and you would think somewhere along the line I would have raced on a road course but it's never happened. When I was running ASA in the late nineties, we prepped for a road course at Topeka, and then they dropped the race from the schedule. Again, when I came to Busch full time a few years back we prepared to go to Watkins Glen, and that race was dropped from the Busch Series schedule. I guess the third time is a charm. I finally get to go road racing! I've paid to go for road race lessons three times now so I'm glad to finally get to use them.

 We had a lot of guys just running hot, and we were running hot to start the game again tonight. That's a nice come-from-behind victory on the road for us. I've seen a lot of road games.

 It is possible the SEC ... the two streams will cross, ... We haven't gotten to that bridge yet, let alone figured out how to cross it. We, like everyone else, have to think of alternative ways to get home if one road is blocked.

 If you take cyclists, runners, cross-country skiers, swimmers and all kinds of endurance athletes across the board, the people who are abusing EPO might number in the lows 100s. Compare that to the thousands of people for whom the drug has been a lifesaving application.

 There's a general ill will toward cyclists, unfortunately, from police and the general public. Some people just don't want to share the road.

 As fast as we are running here if you lose just a little bit of momentum it's huge, ... Half the time running eighth I couldn't even see the leaders. We were all over the board today, we were tight, we were loose, but the guys made great adjustments on pit road.

 There were so many needs that needed to be met in an expedited fashion, ... The Red Cross was running a very good operation at the center, and the volunteers at the church were running a very organized operation there. But people were just running from one task to the next, trying to meet the need that was most critical at that moment.

 Everyone knows going on the road is going to be a real challenge, but we'll cross that road next week. What I'm focused on is that they learn from each and every experience.
