 The Department of Education is trying to define itself out of trouble by setting the bar very high for what constitutes covert propaganda, ...  Parents' confidence in Ruth Kelly's ability to maintain the integrity of the staff working in schools is ebbing away.

 With the addition of each state to the registry, the capacity grows for parents and communities to be informed and aware of sex offenders residing in their neighborhoods. Alaska's efforts to further extend this invaluable tool nationwide are commendable. The coordination among states, private organizations and the Department of Justice moves us closer to making information about all registered sex offenders available to parents and concerned citizens.

 This is a very important, large case. I'm not comfortable making motions until I'm fully able to speak to my client about the case. All I can ask for is bring us back here when we are cleared.

 We think members of this community would be anxious to hear this kind of a case. Parents, grandparents, and anyone involved in the life of a child would not want a school engaging in this type of behavior.

 I don't think that either of these schools benefit from this case. The only good that I hope will come from this case is that dialogue starts.

 The initial response from the Department of Education is we may relax rules on a case-by-case basis, and for school districts that just got wiped out that sounds pretty silly.

 Clearly, in the case of a terrorist attack, that would be the case, ... But is there a natural disaster - of a certain size - that would then enable the Defense Department to become the lead agency in coordinating and leading the response effort?

 Individuals who commit treasonous acts against the United States will be held fully accountable, ... I will devote whatever resources are necessary within the department to ensure that justice is done in this case and any other case like it.
