 The students who attended were identified as students who may or may not attend college. Many will be first generation college students. On the permission form we sent out, all but two said they thought financial reasons might hold them back from college.

 We encourage parents and students to find out what specifications the college requires (for a computer), so that we can make sure they walk out of the store with exactly what they need for four years of college.

 We cannot allow 400,000 college-ready students to be held back from going to college full time and 200,000 students to be shut of college completely every year, because they can't afford the cost.

 The business was initially started as a way to just provide a service to college students, namely by me to other students in my dorm and we began to realize that the market for serving college students was not a very well-developed one.

 It used to be only the smartest students went to college; but as more people go to college, we have more marginal students.

 I've seen students using it to get to know other students in really large lecture halls. I've seen students using it to flirt and hook up with people. It's a tool for navigating through college life.

 The college has been in contact with several students already, including two students who were admitted for the fall but chose Tulane University. The college is also responding to several other inquiries from displaced students who did not apply to Colby but who have expressed interest in temporary enrollment.

 I don't know a whole lot of college graduates who are going to work a $10 temporary job. I know that they have to find people somewhere to grade them, but I would certainly hope that they would find professional readers, not just kids out of college that are looking for something to do.

 I've never recruited a kid in all my years here. Once I left college, my recruiting days were over. But I know its going on. People know its going on. People lie about it, people find truth they want to find about it. ... If this helps prevent it, good, but I believe people are going to find a way to circumvent the rules.
