If you are dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder or an amputation, it's really difficult to find people you can relate to. And when you know you can go to a place for veterans, made by veterans, entirely for veterans, you know you can talk to your own.

 We got to be ready to play our first game, ... We've lost three times. Again, I'm trying to tell them we had chances to win all three. So don't feel like you're not capable of winning games. And try to understand what we need to do better.

 It's not that complicated. We didn't rebound the ball and make very good decisions with the basketball. Now, it's about making basketball plays. Basic basketball plays. The older guys keep telling us it's not the national championship game. It's a series. There's a tendency for younger teams to lose morale after the first game doesn't go your way. We're a pretty positive group and that comes from experience.

 We did everything possible to win the game. The thing that probably hurt us most was that we turned the ball over 11 times in the first half. We shot 59 percent in the first half, and that's 11 times we didn't get a shot. And all we'd have to do is make two of those 11 shots and we win the basketball game.

 This is just a very, very, very frustrating feeling to watch these kinds of things happen on the floor. There were times I turned around and looked at my other coaches and just asked what was going on out there. You just can't win basketball games when you don't take care of the basketball and you don't rebound as a group. We did neither down the stretch when we had to.

 I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

 This is a nice win because it puts us up two games over three teams. We've been winning games, but could only get a one-game lead. Now we've got a little cushion. I thought our kids played a pretty good basketball game tonight.

 With D.J. (Jarrett) winning at Talladega, and Mark taking the win at Kansas, maybe there's some kind of trend going on for us older guys uh, I mean us seasoned veterans to be winning the races, ...  This group has really improved. They've gone from not winning any games as seventh graders to winning eight games as ninth graders. They've really worked hard. I feel like this group will keep working hard and continue to get better.

 Still, this group won the most games in a season in 23 years. We came into this game winning 17 out of our last 19 games. We gave our community a lot to be proud of. We didn't make them proud with this performance, but one game isn't going to take anything away from their accomplishments this year. That (St. V-M) was a very good team.

 We just need to focus on winning a game. We don't look at it as trying to get into the tournament. We're just trying to win some basketball games.

 I thought his comments were fine. At times Porto did outplay us, and we knew they would, but the thing is we rattled them. They had highly gifted players but we rattled them. I asked the players to let Porto know they had been in a game and they did that.
