 I kept thinking ---- why did I go through all this? But the entire time I had prepared for 'The Apprentice,' I had researched Martha Stewart's company. And what I got out of that was a blueprint for my company and what I'm supposed to do.

 The poor ratings on the TV show equated in my mind to the fact that management of Martha Stewart Living no longer had the clout to enter into new deals or to announce any kind of new Martha Stewart-related projects that would give the stock further support.

 NBC is working on filling holes instead of making a schedule that can maintain itself over the years. Martha Stewart will breathe new life into 'The Apprentice' franchise but it's not something that you can count on year after year.

 When we saw American Magazine, we knew we wanted to work with Mignonne to launch Chicken Soup for the Soul magazine. Our fans have been asking for Chicken Soup for the Soul magazine, and now it's here.

 (The contestants are) going to get real business lessons, real business advice and, day in and day out, tasks that are difficult and challenging and they're going to be aware of what it takes to be an apprentice at Martha Stewart Living.

 What we are saying -- whether it was 'Martha Stewart' or any other publication -- when you have a 22 percent drop, that's significant, and we will watch it very closely.
