 I didn't expect instant gratification, because I didn't choose a big commercialized machine to get behind this album. This is an independent album, and sometimes that appreciation takes years to receive. But I am grateful that the word of mouth on the West Coast and all coasts is back, maybe we can begin to start really moving some things again.

 This album clearly didn't have that launch pad. This album was launched on the back of word of mouth, music reviews and the quality of the music itself.

 I often go out on the road without an album, ... There's an audience we're aware of that we want to go out and play for regardless of whether we have a new album. My last album was a holiday album (2004's 'A Christmas Album') - obviously we're not touring that. Albums come along when they're ready. I'm not on any particular schedule.

 It's been nonstop since the day I found out, ... I knew when the verdict came down and then the sentencing, that I didn't have any time to play around. I had to get the album done, and all the other things in my life settled quickly. I'd never done an album so fast before, and in a way it was a good thing. The music just kind of rolled out.

 On first album, we were more inspired by 80's bands. We were kids. We were like 18 years old, pretty naive. I think that album was a lot about going out, partying - the new album is more about what we've been through.

 This whole album takes you in a lot of different directions, yet it still really sounds like an Alice album. There are no fillers. Pick any song you think might be a single and I'm happy with that song representing the album. That to me is quality.

 I remember loving that album, ... Frampton took me into the studio and played me that album and I thought it was the greatest party album that I'd heard in a long time, and so I wrote the liner notes and the album became huge.

 I made a U-turn and went back 40 years to try to recapture those feelings, ... The major difference between this album and my first or second album is I think the lyrics now go to places I could never go to then.

 A lot of these songs were written for our first album. One of them, ‘Shuffle Your Feet,’ was from before we were a band even. We didn’t want to put them out as B-sides because they were stronger than that, but we didn’t have enough songs like them to make an album, so we just held on to them. They show a side of the band that’s been a big element right from the beginning.

 Oh, I love bios! I wouldn't say traditionally it was a "concept album." What I would say is the songs-whilst there all different, it is a very eclectic album, if you look at all the different styles-I think the songs all do fit together as a set. It's probably the most complete album we've made for many years.

 I played on three of Bob Dylan's albums. I have very pleasant memories, especially the Nashville Skyline album was a real fun album to do. He was in a great mood. He was glad to be in Nashville, where the musicians were very laid back and very creative. We had a lot of fun doing that album.

 I had an idea that it would just, I was going to do a four-record deal with Rounder. I was going to do two studio albums, a live album and an all-acoustic album, a solo album, which I have yet to do. And then I was just going to take whatever notoriety I had and I was going to come to like California and try to get small bit parts in movies or something. Small parts, not leading parts, not like Elvis Presley did. I'm talking about just small parts and then maybe just play music on the side. It just didn't work out that way.

 We never had any expectations for our first album, so I don't know why we should start now. We hope that we at least sell the same amount we sold of our last album. If it's more than that, great. We're on an independent label so we're not afforded the same things that major label bands are. We don't have the same outlets available to us, but we have different outlets that work for us that don't work for major label bands. A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*.

 Right now, this is definitely the final tour and the final album. We have made a decision, ... And, maybe, we might wake up 10 years from now and we might want to do an album. Or we might wake up three years or five years from now and say, 'Y'all feel like doing another album?' What people don't realize is that we are still only 24 or 25 years old.
