The reason people come gezegde

 The reason people come up with ideas is that they want to solve a problem that would make their jobs easier or they want to help the company because they are a team player. They're not necessarily looking for a big bribe. They're just looking for management to listen to them. As soon as you get money involved it changes people's behavior.

 Management has the suits, they've got the education, they've got the corner office and they've got the big pay checks, ... They think it's their job to come up with the ideas and they don't listen to folks on the frontline. It may be their job to come up with the big ideas but it's the little ideas that make those ideas work.

 Why are we here? I think many people assume, wrongly, that a company exists solely to make money. Money is an important part of a company's existence, if the company is any good. But a result is not a cause. We have to go deeper and find the real reason for our being.

 He knows that he can't solve a lot of the world's problems. He can't solve AIDS, he can't solve the global warming problem, but he can feel and make sure that people's quality of life is addressed by the city government,

 It may seem that I'm involved more than I should be. It's when people come to you and they ask you to go to meetings and say 'here's a problem, can you solve it?' And you don't mind becoming involved in local issues because if you can help them out with a government bureaucracy then you want to help them do that.

I can make far more of a difference by going out and explaining to people how they can use our technology and [thereby] make their jobs easier. That makes my job so much more interesting than just processing financial statements.

 Compromise is usually bad. It should be a last resort. If two departments or divisions have a problem they can't solve and it comes up to you, listen to both sides and then pick one or the other. This places solid accountability on the winner to make it work. Condition your people to avoid compromise.

Some will say that they're failures, others that their boss had it in for them, and others yet that they were sure their career ended because of a stupid faux pas they made at the company picnic.

 I don't have a monopoly on trying to solve the city's gang problem, ... I'm open to new ideas and people trying different things. If Jackie is successful with this approach, then more power to her.

 I think both would help encourage more people to run. The easier we make it for people to get involved, the more people will get involved.

 I think he will go into this meeting with an open mind. He wants to listen to people, and if people have any ideas of anything short-term, he will listen.

 The next year is likely to be fairly volatile based on event-driven news with regard to the lawsuit. Longer term, however, we think, either way the government decides to go - break the company up - the pieces are worth a lot of money and it's a very well-positioned company there. I think investors will make money on that side. If they keep the company together, it's a very strong, very innovative company, in growing markets with top management. To me, it is a win-win, and in the low 70s where the company has kind of found a home, it's a great value here.
